Re: Thunder over MI Air Show?

  • I really wouldn't know if it's too loud - it's pretty loud, but only when the plane is directly above you, so its only for a few seconds.

I've been to the air show once, and it was fine.  But usually we just park the jeep off of Ecorse right next to the airport.  It fills up really fast, but people are coming and going all day so we've never had too much trouble finding a place to park.  We just take the top/doors off of the jeep and stay in the car, but a lot of people bring lawn chairs and sit next to their cars.

  • I've been and it's awesome (as long as the blue angels are there.....which they are this year), but it's a long day and I can't imagine a 1 and 3 year old enjoying it (but I don't have kids).  I would recommend doing what the PP said and parking close by to watch the show.  The blue angels are usually the last thing on the program and definitely the best part of the show.

I didn't know the blue angels were coming back this year.  I'll have to make sure DH knows so we'll for sure go this year.  He usually likes going either way, but I'm sure he'll be excited!

  • They're going to fly right over your house. It'll be a loud few days. Just FYI.
  • I've never been to that particial show but I live somewhat close to Selfridge & when they have their air show I can hear it at my house. they usually practice a few days before hand so i hear that as well.  I've been at a friends house who lives really close & it shakes their house (they live probably w/in 5 miles). It's really cool, the blue angels are really good.

i'd get some ear plugs for the kiddo's but i'm sure they'd enjoy it (at least the 3yr old).

  • I've never been before but my dad got us tix for Christmas... I am excited to see the Blue Angels!
  • DH took DD there last year when she was 2.  They were there only a couple of hours, but she liked going into the airplanes that they could & looking at them.  For her it was also good "daddy/daughter" time.  He didn't say about it being too noisy.
