Friday! Friday! Friday!

I am guessing answering the questions is just too daunting this morning since it is 9am and we have one answer.

Anyone out there? Got anything to say?

Re: Friday! Friday! Friday!

  • Some days I wish we still had FFF.

What happened to TMI girl from yesterday?  Did she DD?

  • I think I missed it. What happened?

The international boards on here just do FFC - flame free comments, so basically you can say whatever/whenver. Of course, they sometimes get flamed too, so who knows.

I can only assume she did, which was weird since no one was especially mean to her. I think it just pissed me off because she was #1 an idiot and #2 probably pregnant which is the most amazing combo ever.

  • I dont see why we cant have FFF every once in a while.  I think having it every single week is overkill and creates negativity, but maybe once a month?

I missed the TMI post as I was swamped yesterday.

I think you should just go for it.

  • I agree.  Once every month or so would be ok but every Friday was a bit much!  I also missed the TMI post. Sad

I'm here just a little tired but I couldn't sleep after the game was over last night.

  • So I have a random question.  What is the difference between posts and points on the nest?

I have googled this before and it seems like no one knows. I know you get points for replying to threads, starting threads and people replying to threads you have started. I think you may also get points for sending PMs.

I must have missed the TMI post too.

Some random person came on here yesterday afternoon and posted something with a subject line that was like: CRAMPS! DISCHARGE! Some other TMI Thing!

The post was about some symptoms she was having - see above and about possibly being pregnant (I think) the grammar/spelling was horrible, like really, really horrible.

The end of the post was "Could I be pregnant?" which makes me want to scream. Well duh, of course you could effing be pregnant, but how are a bunch of strangers going to know? Does your text look pregnant? Go to the damn Dollar Tree and pee on a stick!

Obviously that question is one of my pet peeves. :)

  • I'm here.  Barely.  I missed the post, too.  Oh well.
  • Lacey - What time is book club this month? I kind of (really) want to do a 5k that morning, but also really want to come to book club.

    It's 12 - 2.  :)

Cool. I will be there post-5k. I promise to go home and shower first. I may not look my most put-together ever but I will be there.

The 5k is raising money for colon cancer research, which is the reason my granddad had to miss walking me down the aisle - so it really appealed to me.

  • Random question:  This will be my first book club discussion to participate in.  After answering the poll for 10-12, I realized I had a hair appointment that morning at 9 am. Oops.  This may throw me a little late getting to book club at noon.  Is it okay if I am a little late?
  • I don't know. I think the theme of FFF was overall negative and just a chance to "flame" other knotties/nesties, which is what started so much drama. I don't see the point. And if you want to just say negative things about random crap, isn't that allowed in every open chit chat thread we have throughout the week? I use it as such.

But I'm alone in this opinion and majority rules.

You are not alone, I feel the same way Summer.

Actually, the reason I miss FFF is not because I want to flame someone.   It is because it mostly isolated the negativity to Friday.

I find that the board is pretty negative on most days and not that enjoyable to read.  At all.

Note:  I already wrote this response once and it disappeared... so if it shows up somewhere else, whoops.

Yeah, I think that would be fine.

  • And, I also feel that FFF is a breeding ground for passive-aggressive people who can't say how they truly feel towards a certain thing/person during the rest of the week so they have to save it up for Friday when it's "flame free."

I don't need a special thread to disagree with someone or tell someone they're being dumb. In a tactful way. So maybe that's why I don't see the need for FFF.

Plus Friday's should be happy, y'all. It's mother effing Friday.

Oops, maybe I should have waited until we had a FFF to say that so it could be more appropriate.

  • I'm here but totally procrastinating work by looking at the gawker websites.  I love them...

    Like to cook....www.foodgawker.com

    like to craft/diy...www.craftgawker.com

    like to redecorate...www.dwellinggawker.com

    planning a wedding...www.weddinggawker.com

There are some seriously cool things on all these sites.  I'm totally addicted and love all the cool ideas.

I can see that. B&M will always by nature be negative, but the rest of the week shouldn't really be. I don't feel like it should all be sunshine, puppies and light though - I feel like a lot of us continue to hang out on the boards because we say things to each other that we normally wouldn't just say out loud to people around us.

Anyone who knows me on or off the boards knows I'm about the farthest thing there is from puppies and rainbows.

I'm just giving my opinion and it's cool if you guys don't like it.   I probably won't be around as much anymore anyways.

I don't really feel like the rest of the week is negative in general. I feel like we just talk about whatever topics come up.

Awww, Tiffany I am sorry to hear that.  I never think of this board as negative!

Leslie, I hope you can still make book club!
