Help - poison ivy!!

Ok I must have brushed up against it and I have a small bit of poison ivy on my foot, right on the side where flip flop straps go (go figure).  So it's been painful and itchy to walk so I've been putting itch cream on it and then covering it with a bandaid which seems to help as well as not spread it but it doesn't seem to be getting any better.  It's not worse, just not better.  I'm going on vacation next week and would really like to be ivy-free.  Any recommendations?

Re: Help - poison ivy!!

  • It can take weeks for it to heal. Just keep it clean and keep using cortisone cream on it. Swimming in a chlorinated pool will help dry it out.

  • My Mom and Sister would get horrible PI like every summer of my life.  A cortisone shot is a good idea (from the doc) and they also would take oatmeal baths to dry things out.
