Cat groomer - Willow Groveish area
The furball is shedding like mad and it's beyond my brushing capacity. I'll open the online search next but just curious if anyone has a recommendation for a groomer in the greater Willow Grove/Horsham-etc. area. TIA.
Re: Cat groomer - Willow Groveish area
The PetsMart (or is it PetSmart?) in Montgomeryville does cat grooming. I looked into it when we toyed with the idea of shaving down our long haired cat. It was ~$60 and they cannot be sedated. I can't get my cat to the vet without throwing a fit, so it was out for us.
Let me know if you find any place that will allow the feline to be sedated.
My short-haired cat LOVES the furminator. He purrs and rubs up against it while I brush him. He's the happiest furminated kitty ever. My long-haired HATES it. And he bites me when I try to go anywhere other than his back. So it's almost pointless to use it on him since the belly and the 'pits' are where he really needs the attention most. Give it a try. Maybe your kitty will love it to...or maybe he'll try to to kill you.
Well, she's long-haired, so probably the latter.
Interestingly, I called my vet to see if they had a recommendation. They have a groomer on staff. So I asked if the groomer sedates (my cat is 12 and there is no way I am going to have her knocked out so it's easier for me to vacuum). They tell me, well, the groomer will sedate if it's necessary. So I say, well, of course you call me first, right? And they say, generally no...but here's the best part. She asks me if my cat is a patient there, to look her up. Then she says, "oh, your cat will be have to be sedated." Apparently there's a note in the chart that my cat is a biatch!
I just made an appointment for my cat to get shaved. I cannot take the fur anymore.
lol at the lion cut comment. Valid point about the teeth cleaning thing.
Your kitties are so cute! Your white one reminds me a lot of my Simon. The hair gets to me too. I vacuum the couch at least twice a week and am currently saving for a roomba because who doesn't need two, $300+ vacuums?! A person w/o two cats...that's who! Just this morning, when I got into my car, I threw my purse onto the passenger seat and up puffed a large cloud of fur. My purse had landed on my reusable cloth bags that I use for shopping. Apparently Simon had found his way into them for a nice little nap since they stay by the door so I remember to put them back in my car. Now they need to washed and my car vacuumed! Thanks a lot, kitty.
Thanks! I love your kitties too, they are so cute.
FI vaccums everything at least once per week. We tried finding a flowbee for Sadie, but I dont think they sell them anymore.
