DH and I can finally replace our thermostat, previously we'd have voided the warranty by doing so. It's a programmable one, with 4 separate times during the day: Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep. Now I'm curious what people have theirs set at.

1) While Sleeping:
summer - 76
winter - 66
2) At home:
summer - 74
winter - 68
3) Not at home:
summer - 78
winter - 64
4) Other: I am guilty of overriding these temperatures frequently. If I am too cold in the winter or too warm in the summer, I will override to kick-start the heat/ac. But I'd rather just override it the times I need it than pay to run it at that temp all the time.
1) While Sleeping: Summer 75, Winter 71 (because of Gabriel, before him it was 67)
2) At home: Summer 75, winter 71
3) Not at home: Summer 78, winter 68
4) Other: In the summer, if we are not at home and the dogs are home we will keep the temp at 75, if no one is in the house we will hold it at 78. In the winter we will do the same, keep it warmer if the dogs are in the house

3) Not at home: Summer 78, winter 62
4) Other: If its terribly hot or cold, we will override it, but our model (i'm assuming all models) just gets back on cycle once it gets to the next time point. I usually just leave it in the off mode during the summer unless I'm dying or I know its going to be too hot for the cats - like hotter than 85.
We just got this installed, so so easy, seriously.
For there record, my husband is really irritating about house temps. I had to talk him out of 82 as a daily summer temperature and 60 as a daily at home winter temperature.
We settled on:
At home - 78 summer, 66 winter
Not at home - 85 summer (no dogs to worry about, the cat's room is super insulated and never gets hot), 60 winter
Sleeping - 82 summer, 62 winter
We'll see how long this lasts.

Ours is programable but I keep messing it up (LOL) so we just manually adjust it...
Summer: It's been off so far this year but if it gets hot we turn the AC on to 80 maybe lower at night if we can't cool the bedroom upstairs off.
Winter: DH won't let the heat be set above 65 if I am lucky, usually it's at 60-63 through the day/night. If guests are over we crank it to 68-70. LOL.
