How do you know what you should be paid?

I had a range of what I felt I wanted to be paid when I graduated (had worked through college so had quite a bit of experience). When I got my job they paid me at the lower end of my range, but decent benefits. Money is really tight and I am always browsing jobs online. If I found one that still had good benefits but paid more I would be very willing to apply (I love the company, but really dont' like my job).

I wonder though if what I'm expecting to get paid is too high. I just didn't know how you should figure out what to tell employers when they ask what you want to be paid?

perhaps the free subscription isn't as accurate as the paid one, we use the paid one through a network associate and it is pretty spot on!
