He made Chicken Piccata last night from scratch using a recipe in his new cookbook for diabetics that my friend/coworker got us. I think this diabetes thing is really starting to sink in for him and he's finally taking it seriously which is a huge plus AND the meal was delicious!
Also, watching Mariela run to him when he comes home from work on Wednesdays and I'm home with her absolutely melts my heart (and his). I think I even saw a little tear in his eye this week when she ran for him with arms outstretched.
DH surprised me by purchasing two books on my nook that he saw on my wishlist.
And he might be getting a promotion within the department that will take him off shift work, and put him on a normal M-F 40 hour schedule. I joked and said if that happened, we'd be full time married, rather than part time married. He then said, yes, and maybe we'd have a better chance at getting full time pregnant
AWW! (and please send job vibes that the contract negotiations go through and this job gets posted - he is literally the only qualified FF on the department for the position)

DH is manning a water stop and running an 8k for an inaugural race of a part of town he can't stand.
He told his parents we were busy so that they wouldn't come down and interrupt our crazy weekend.
He has been super complimentary about me wearing my hair curly.
My DH rocks because last weekend while I was in Kansas City wedding dress shopping with my little SIL and having a grand old time with wine and girl time, he was tearing the paneling out of our last room that needs to be painted. He cleaned out the room completely, tore off all the paneling, vacuumed, and got it all ready to do wallpaper removal and painting this weekend....
On that note, my DH is rocks because this weekend while I'm in Estes Park for my in-town BFF's bachelorette party/ girls weekend, he plans to remove all the wallpaper in the office, sand, fill in holes, and paint. He said he "needs a project so I'm not a worthless piece of crap all weekend".

He's taking care of P all weekend so I can go on an overnight trip to the shore tomorrow through Sunday morning with my sorority sisters from college. I haven't been able to go on the trip since I was 38 weeks pregnant the first year and we had a family event last year.
He also offered to completely cancel our early Father's Day plans this Sunday (that's when the Phillies are in town for the Father's Day game) so he could go with me to my friend's son's baptism instead. I talked him out of that one so he could still take P and go with his dad to the game.
