It was a year ago today...
that we brought Bobby home for the first time. He was 158 days old, 9lbs 1oz and 21 inches (up from 1lb 9oz, 12 inches). We arrived home with oxygen tank in tow and a lot of nerves. We were so excited to show him his room, his new house, and to finally have a private moment with our son without nurses, beeps, wires and various other interruptions. We walked him around and showed him his new home...told him about everything and how we were always going to be together and never have to leave him again with people he didn't know. Now I sit here thinking about my amazing little boy...no longer that seemingly fragile baby who had been so sick. He's now my crazy climber, chuckle monster, funny, amazing hero. He's even more than I ever dreamed he'd be. He's the greatest love I could ever imagine and I'm so glad he's mine! All 25lbs of him! Now this weekend we celebrate!!! It's robot party time! Happy tears!!! I am so incredibly happy that this day has come for your family. Bobby has touched so many lives in his one and half years on this earth, more than most people do in a lifetime. He really is a hero! Lots of love to you all!!!
It makes me so happy to read this post, after following his entire story.
And so much more after going to the wake of a little 7 year old boy from my son's class today that passed away this week. Life is so fragile it is scary.
Hug him tight.. all of us parents should hug out children tight in honor of Bobby's survival and remembrance of Ryan's death
