we have a reservation @ Tao's in nyc, any reviews?

I am big on reading reviews before I go somewhere, the reviews that I have read are mixed, people are saying good food, but very loud and rude service, we are going on sat for our anniversary and I will be ticked off if this is true. has anyone been?

I haven't been there in years, but I loved it way back when. It is definitely loud, it's not a romantic place if that's what you're looking for. It's fun and the food is good. Hope you like it!

Years ago that place was big. I went again recently with some former coworkers (we used to go there and thought it'd be cool). I was surprised to find it pretty touristy now. However, the food there was still good. I've never had anything there I didn't like. They have good cocktails too and all the asaian beers if your DH is into that. But yes, VERY loud. I had a hard time talking to people at the table- there were 5 of us. You should ask when they seat you- some places in the restauarant are louder than others.

We went last weekend for our anniversary. As pp said, it was great food, but it was very loud. However, we weren't looking for really romantic, we were looking for fantastic food. Once we were there, we realized that we had been there before, and glad that we went back.
