I think it's about time I add a little bit of structure to my life, so I am making one for myself.
Tips please!
Re: Cleaning schedules..
I do a room a day:
Sunday is my bedroom day. I wash the sheets, dust the furniture, vacuum, bathe my dogs and wash their bed.
Monday is the living room. I dust, clean my big mirror and clock, vacuum, and febreze the furniture.
I don't have Tuesday on my cleaning sch because I was still in school when I decided to make a cleaning sch.
Wednesday is kitchen day. I clean all surfaces, the microwave, wipe appliances, clean the sink, clean out the refrigerator, take out the trash (and the rest of the house since it runs Thursday), sweep and mop.
Thursday I do bathrooms (in case we have company over the weekend, they are fresh). I disinfect the toilet, bathtub, and sink, clean the mirror, sweep and mop.
Friday I do about a 30 minute clean sweep through the whole house.
Daily/As Needed: make bed, laundry, run/unload dishwasher, organize mail/pay bills, de-clutter
Monthly (usually the 1 st weekend of the month): dust ceiling fans, clean baseboards, clean blinds.
I typed it up really cute in word and each day has its own 'box', and my home management binder has a cleaning section, where this lives along with my seasonal cleaning list. Hope you find something that works for you.
I also do day by day
Monday: clean bathrooms, vacuum, wash darks, take out trash
Tuesday: wash cloth diapers, wash whites, take out recycling
Wednesday: clean kitchen, vacuum, wash mediums, take out trash
Thursday: clean office, bedrooms, wash baby clothes, wash cloth diapers
Friday: clean living/dinning rooms, vacuum, wash work clothes, take out trash
Saturday: steam clean tile, clean hardwoods, vacuum furniture, wash cloth diapers, wash sheets, bath mats, rugs, towels, change litter box, take out trash
Daily: sort mail, wash bottles/pots/pans, wipe kitchen surfaces, unload/load dishwasher, sweep kitchen, scoop litter box
I also have a list I follow weekly that rotates every week for 4 weeks, but it's just little deep cleaning tidbits. I will be posting them on my blog soon.

Living Simple Blog
Sunday: Kitchen
Monday: Bathroom
Tuesday: Living room & Dining room
Wednesday: Kitchen (again)
Thursday: Basement
Friday: Bedrooms
Saturday: Wash bedding
Daily: pick up, trash/recycling out (as needed), laundry usually happens on my day off.
This is just what I aim to do. It doesn't always work out, but I'm pretty flexible about the schedule.
These are the sections/contents I currently have:
Home: You Are Here (home info w/ directions and DH's and I's #s), emergency phone numbers, emergency packing checklist, hurricane preparedness guide (I live in South LA); planning on taking an inventory of all our 'big' things we have in the house and taking pictures of each, keeping any warranty info with this.
Family: Our personal info (allergies, med info, copies of ins cards, etc), Pet info (Names, birthdates, vet info, feeding schedule, shot record, etc)
Cleaning: Daily/Weekly cleaning sch, spring/fall cleaning checklists, cleaning tips/tricks
Meals: weekly meal planner, master grocery list, price list (for when things go on 'sale'), take-out menus and coupons
Planning: Important dates, school calendar, party planning
Money: currently empty but planning on having a list of all of our accts and contact info, logins, etc... (I don't have full acct numbers, only the last 4, and I also don't have the full logins/passwords, just a few letters/numbers to jog my memory.
Misc: currently empty
Garden: currently only has the seed packets I recently planted and dates they were planted
*I have this all in a 3-ring binder, with dividers, page sleeves, and folders in certain sections to hold important things. I made my own checklists in Word (a few I googled to get ideas, but still made my own), and I got some little dry-erase markers to write on them. I just started this project about a month ago, and as anal as I am, I'm sure I will never be 'finished' with it. I don't have any kids yet, so I know I will be adding to it when that day comes. I know some people keep their calendar in this, but I prefer to have my own master calendar (that is with me at all times). I also have a separate (13 pocket) folder that I use for any ideas I get, and save magazine clippings and what-not in that.Majorwife's Brains of the Operation (Household Binder) is pretty amazing, too. She's got awesome printable templates. Definitely check it out. http://goodwifeinthekitchen.blogspot.com/search/label/household%20binder
