big fat gypsy wedding: they have the right idea...
if i lived in a society that forced the woman to do all the cooking and cleaning i'd choose a trailer too! how hard could it be after all to keep that small of a space clean? they probably have all kinds of free time - haha. except i would have to draw the line on going to the bathroom outside. that's not happening. call me a snob but not having indoor plumbing is a deal breaker!!!
Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.

They seem to be constantly wiping them though. Maybe it's just for the show, but every time there's an inside shot they're wiping the edges of the windows and things. If that have to clean every inch of that daily it would be very annoying.
My main issue with the trailers (other than the outdoor bathroom issue) is the "stuff". Where on earth do they put it? They buy these huge dresses and they're always talking about clothes and how they like nice things. Where do they put it?
It's because of the dust. Trailers get very dusty very fast. It's easier just to do a wipe down every day than have to do a major clean.
And I'm with you MD- Way easier to clean a little trailer than a giant house!
I thought that episode was interesting. The mindset of the men and the women. I also thought it was weird that the girls parents had lived in a house her whole life but still considered themselves gypsies.
I was really surprised that her father let her have a job for 5 years. What did she do with her money? She could have quite a bit saved.
Living in a trailer would be fine until the kids started coming. How is everyone supposed to sleep when you have a newborn? Those walls are not very thick.
I think it was the new episode that had the mom who had divorced her husband. I was glad that despite the pressure from the culture to stay married she opted to take her children out of a bad situation. I give her kudos for that. She said herself that she didn't know of anyone else who had ever gotten divorced.
