Most of our couple friends are at Ft. Riley, my few friends from highschool or college have moved out of state or have kids. I work in a retirement community so yes there are couple but they could all be our grandparents or parents. My husband is still back and forth from Kansas (he is stationed at Ft. Riley but gets out in August) meeting new people has become pretty difficult.
We go to Church but it does not have a strong Young Married's Program.
So looking for possibility of a new Church is daunting, any suggestions? We live north of Dallas in Denton.
Looking into joining a rec. softball team...I am VERY unathletic so that its sad. Maybe DH can join a mens team and there will be other supportive wives ![]()
Re: Finding Couple Friends...
Sometimes we have get togethers with some of the ladies from this board and it's a great way to meet people. Last week they did a couples G2G with husbands also. I don't know if there is another one planned, but you could go to that.
Yes I work at an Independent Living Retirement Community as an Activity Director. Its a fun M-F 9am-6pm job
That sounds fun
(whats a G2G?)
A couple of us live up near Denton.
Definitely come to a get together some time. We've been trying to do it a little later on Fridays in a fairly central location.
In the mean time, I know it may be hard for you to post on this board during the day, but try to post if you can so we can get to know you.
You said you worked and I completely missed that in your original post. It's Friday, that's my only excuse.
Hey there first of all congrats on your new marriage. I am also in the Denton area we are actually in Corinth. Any time you would like we could hang out, maybe get a cup of coffee or something. I attend The church of Corinth and I love it they have great leaders and great small groups. My husband works on the weekends so I am usually at home looking for something. To do and I am always up for doing things during the week. If it is easier you can send me an email at jharrison71684@yahoo.com. Again congrats. Joann
