Oh travel goddesses of NFL

Can one of you show me how, point me to, or find me the way to get the cheapest flights from either Pensacola, Fort Walton, Mobile, or Gulf Port to Chicago, either OHare or Midway round trip?

I know I can look up every airport and every airline, but there has to be a cheaper way to do this.  I'm looking for a Thursday-Tuesday type trip, maybe over a holiday weekend, but if that's going to jack my prices up I dont want it.

I dont really have an idea of a budget or dates, just the cheapest I can find.

Re: Oh travel goddesses of NFL

  • I would use something like sidestep/kayak for my first search.  I'd include nearby airports and choose flexible dates if you don't have specific dates in mind already.  Also, keep in mind that some airlines don't participate in it though and I'd check Southwest and American Airlines separately.  I know American Airlines doesn't participate in expedia or orbitz anymore, so I'm assuming they're not on kayak anymore either.

Your best bets for cheapest flights usually are mid-week flights that do NOT include a holiday weekend in between.  *edited for clarity

  • I second kayak. You can select multiple airports and dates. Also, if it's not too far, Panama City and New Orleans airports have southwest. I'd check southwest directly...they often have cheap web and "wanna get away" rates. If your dates are flexible, I believe they also have a calendar that will show the cheapest times to travel to your destination. Lastly, if you don't mind having up to 2 connections, Priceline name your own price could be a cheap option. We used Priceline for our HI trip and saved 50% on flight tix.
  • I use Yapta when booking my flights because it forecasts prices & will show you the price history & email you when it goes up/down.

  • PNS to MKE.  Airtran and Delta both make this trip.  Are you trying to end up in Chicago?  Tell me your plans and I can help.  :)  I do this trip at least every other month.

My final destination will be Chicago. I don't really have set plans, except that I want the price to be as cheap as I can get it. The only week I have plans already is the last full week in July, so I was thinking August or early September, but I'm open.
