Lately, I've had a really hard time finding jeans I like. This never used to be an issue for me, and I'm not really sure why it is now.
I buy probably 70% of my clothes at The Gap, and their jeans are okay, but they stretch out so easily. Often, they are too blue for me, too. I like my jeans to be a little more on the gray/neutral side (still technically blue, just not so "royal" blue), it's hard to describe.
I've looked at AT Loft, the Buckle, and Dillard's, but haven't seen anything I'm crazy about. Maybe I'm just too picky these days. Can anyone recommend great jeans?
Re: Jeans
The Buckle has a ton of options. If that's more than you want to spend, try Kohl's.
Also, I know a lot of people would ignore this.. but you may also try Langston's Western Wear. They often carry some more mainstream brands, in addition to their western-y jeans, and the prices usually aren't too bad.
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
I was actually going to post and say that my very favorite jeans ever are DKNY, but I only have one pair and have had a hard time finding more. I have to have jeans that come in long or tall (34" inseam or longer) and prefer a mid-rise, so it's really hard for me to find jeans I like.
I'd say "order them online" but the problem with that is it seems like every pair I've ever tried on has fit me differently. I literally own pairs in three different sizes. It's worth the annoyance, though, since they seem to last forever and hold their shape well.
I *think* I remember the Penn Square Macy's carrying them and having S-R-L sizes.
If not, I bought a pair of jeans last year at Banana Republic that seemed to fit the same way as DKNY. I know they carry long sizes, but have no idea what they're like now that they went to the Euro-sizing.
JCrew, Macy's and DKNY are all great suggestions! (TJ- I shopped at Maurices ALL THE TIME in high school, but I don't think there's one near me now.)
Thanks ladies... looks like I've got some shopping to do.
I'm in north OKC... I know it's not *that* far to Moore, but probably further than I'm willing do drive for Maurices.
Plus, if they stretch out, that's no bueno.
Savvy on Campus Corner in Norman usually has designer jeans on sale - sometimes over 50% off - Caymans does as well (also in Norman).
My favorite jeans of all time though - Lucky. Nothing, to me, fits better than a pair of Lucky's.
bluekid-- Do you know a store in OKC that carries 7 for All Mankind? I would have no problem bargain shopping online, but I feel like you pretty much HAVE to try on jeans before buying.
stripes-- Yes! Lucky jeans used to be my favorite. A few months ago, I tried the Buckle and Macy's (or maybe it was Dillard's?), and didn't have any luck. Apparently the Buckle no longer carries Lucky, and Macy's only had a few to choose from, none of which were my style. (Sidenote: I have a hard time knowing which section I should be shopping in at Macy's and Dillard's. I'm too old for the juniors section, but not old enough for the moms and old ladies sections. It always confuses me.)
Ugh - I have a hard time figuring out what section to shop in as well. Like you said, too old for juniors but not old enough for the other sections.
What about that place off of Western......it might be there near the Make Up Bar....do they still carry Lucky? There are Lucky stores in the Dallas area, of course.
I second this! I don't like to spend tons of money on myself and rarly go buy a lot of new things for me, but I love this store!
Let me see...I think Lime Leopard in Northpark Mall carries them. That's a funny little mall, there.
Hahaha. Yes, I think I've only been there for shady $1 movies. I need to check out this Lime Leopard!
Those of you too grown up for juniors but definitely not in the mom jeans set, welcome to "Better Sportswear" of Macys/ Nordstrom/ Bloomies/ Dillards. It's Michael Kors/ Tahari/ Nine West/ DKNY. It's when juniors clothes still fit, but seem too short/quirky/cheap for work, better sportswear is the answer.
For me, ages 27-30 were the worst. I needed grown-up work clothes, but some women's lines had these hips areas built in that just made no sense for my body.
P.S. If you see anything appliqued in the general vicinity, though, just walk right on by. They make grandma clothes in the "better sportswear" section, too
