I'm looking to get a cut and highlights - there's a place I've gone a couple of times downtown, but I changed jobs and don't work around the corner from it anymore. I'm in the Clarendon-Courthouse area but willing to drive a little bit.
Last time I got a cut I did it at Bubbles in the (gasp) Pentagon City mall. I'm nervous about getting highlights at a mall shop as I want them to look good. I did really like the cut I got there, though.
Bonus points if it won't break the bank. Thanks!
Re: Rec your NoVa hair salon
I just got my hair cut at Frizzle's in Alexandria. I saw Melissa, and she was awesome. I was totally nervous about seeing someone new for such a drastic change (8" and lots of layers plus bangs), but she did a great job and even gave me styling tips as she was working on the finishing touches.
ETA: It was $65, plus tip, so, not totally unreasonable IMO.
Stand up for something you believe in.
"They say with time it gets better. Not true. With time you only get used to it."
i see Ky at Kavenchy in Clarendon. i followed her there from her previous salon, which was in Alexandria. Kavenchy is a little pricey, but totally worth it. i've never been dissatisfied with Ky's cuts and styles.
the last time i went, i got full color, deep conditioner and a cut and it was around $175.
