Nature's Miracle/Carpet Shampooer?

We are in the process of housebreaking our new dog so we have some stinky area rugs.   Does anyone know if you can use Nature's Miracle in a carpet shampooer?  I have borrowed my sister's Hoover Steam Vac.  I used the pet shampoo already, but I want to use Nature's Miracle also.  Can I put it in the vacuum and run it normal?  Has anyone done this?

Re: Nature's Miracle/Carpet Shampooer?

  • I have never used it 'in' the machine, but what I always do when my pups have accidents on the carpet is I will pre-treat the spot with the NM (saturating it), let it sit while I get my machine ready (few minutes), then use the machine to suck it up, and I just use plain clean water in the machine to rinse the spot. No problems yet, and have been doing this for about a year now.

I was wondering if I could do this the other day.  Glad to know it works.

  • I wouldn't do it- heat tends to kill enzymes.

Plus it can take up to two weeks for the enzymes to completely destroy all of the odor. I'd treat it, wait at least a week, and then steam clean as normal.
  • they make a special version for a shampooer... we have it.  they sell it at petco.
