Don't rain on my parade...
With the amazing weather we have been having, I'm so sad that this weekend is filled with rain. I have a small garden party planned for after the parade and now it looks like the party will have to be inside. : (
What are you doing this weekend?
Re: Don't rain on my parade...
Oh no Ginger! I hope it doesn't rain on your party.
I am going out shopping with my cousin this morning. DH has some work to do today so I think we are going to have to stay in tonight. Tomorrow we have plans with friends for dinner.
SO has been working all day on a big project for his job. Tomorrow we are going out to his parents to celebrate father's day and his dad's birthday. (Although, SO still has not gotten a gift, or asked if there is anything we can bring.)
Oh no, I hope the weather holds up for your party! I didn't realize this weekend was the Pride parade; I went last year and loved it.
Oh, I just remembered, it rained last year too!
This weather is awful! I had a fundraiser yard sale, but I only raised $45 (last year I raised $300, but the weather last year was beautiful!)
I then helped a friend move, and after that went on a 7 mile walk, and tomorrow I will go on a 17 mile walk. I know it's supposed to rain tomorrow as well, but I have to train, rain or shine! (I am doing the 60 mile Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure walk in July)
Good luck on your walk! I'm sorry to hear about your fundraiser. The weather was terrible. I live a block from the start of the Pride parade and I had planned a garden party for after the parade for a few friends. I ended up not watching most of the parade, and we just hung out inside. : (
The good news is that I did not have to water my garden tonight. : )
We watched Passion of the Christ last night. After I got over the "What the fvck are they saying?!" shock of the fact that no one speaks english in the movie, it was okay. Brutal, but okay.
Today we went to DH's company's open house.
Tonight we had the BEST sushi I have ever had (coming from someone who doesn't eat sushi, this says a lot) and drinks at a bar with friends.
Tomorrow we have brunch with more friends then I have to get ready for my bidness trip
This is where we went (scroll down to Chef's special rolls)
Aww, boo, Ginger! I'm sorry the rain has put a damper on your plans. I hope you had fun anyway. I have friends who live over in the South End and they were really looking forward to this weekend, too. One of them took vacation days til Wednesday so she could recover.
It's been a mixed bag weekend. Yesterday, we went to see my husband's grandmother for a bit (she had what they can only assume is a mini-stroke the other day, and was in the hospital for a couple of days), and she's doing well - she lost vision on one side, but she was still her normal, spitfire self. I was supposed to go to the concert last night, but I ended up not finding anyone else who could go, so I sold the tickets. Which meant I was extra cranky last night, heh. But we grabbed some Comella's on the way home, and watched Playing By Heart, which is my favorite chick-flick-no-one-has-heard of.
We were going to go to dinner tonight at Marliave for my birfday, but I feel like crap. Stupid weather. So instead I'm curled up on the couch in my sweats watching tv, and we'll get take out tonight and try for Marliave during the week.
Happy Birthday
We enjoy Marliave. The first time we went, I was annoyed by the service, but the second time we went was for lunch and it was great! We also love Petit Robert and the new one in Downtown Crossing is very nice.
Sorry the weather spoiled your dinner plans. Although, going out to dinner in the middle of the week can be a lot more relaxing in sometimes. Enjoy!
Thanks, Ginger! And yeah, we've had spotty service there as well, but the rare bits make it all worthwhile.
Hope you got to enjoy at least some of the pride festivities!
