Sand flea/No-See-Um bite treatment?
A week ago Friday night we had a wedding rehearsal dinner on Fort DeSoto beach in Florida & the sand fleas (No-See-Ums) were out in full force for a bit. I've never heard of them until now. This past weekend I broke out from the bites and am wondering if anyone has tips on what's worked from them. My legs look like I have the chicken pox or something. Will need to get more Cortizone cream for sure
Re: Sand flea/No-See-Um bite treatment?
I hate those things!!!! My parents place in FLA is a breeding ground for those things.
The local clinic I went to down there said there isn't much help for them besides the lotion and putting white vinegar on a cotton ball and gently rubbing that over your bites. In the future take garlic pills a few weeks before the trip, so the smell comes out your pores. I guess they hate that. It also works up here with mosquitos.
Gross fact: they lay eggs under your skin, so the more you itch, the more the eggs multiply, and your bumps will get larger.
