How do you clean your trim and baseboards? Is there an easier way?

I always sit on the floor with a rag and a bowl of vinegar water and clean them. But I'm wondering since I am almost 9 months pregnant if there is an easier way that still gets the job done.

  • I just give them a sweep with the mop.
  • KIDS!!!  An old sock on their hand, a little spray.  Contest, seeing who can get their sock the dirtiest!

guess you have to wait a while for your LO...  Smile

  • Get a little warm water and murphy's oil soap in a spray bottle, and spray the whole room's trim and floor boards in one go, but don't hurry-and by the time you get back to where you started, the solution will have worked its magic and you can just wipe everything off with no scrubbing.  Our 85 pound great dane mix wags his tail so hard that it breaks the tip open and he bleeds on the trim, walls, pretty much everywhere in little swipes and far-flung droplets.  A week buildup of that even comes off with a little murphys solution.  Good luck!

Yup, same problem lol. There is a reason they crop boxers tails. :-) Thanks!

  • OOPS Double post, sorry. Big Smile

  • At 9 months, this is a job that I'd ask your hubby to do. Stick out tongue

I know!!!  :-/  We got a decent tax return, and since we're not paying down debt or anything, thought we'd spend most of it it getting our dog's tail cropped to about 10-12 inches.  That night a scary guy was standing in front of our house, like taking a picture with a cell phone or something...  (*note to pathetic would-be burglar...don't size up a house to rob that has an 85 pound Am Staff/Dane mix....) but he crashed through the pane of glass in the door....  $800 went from the tail to the front paws, and the emergency vet surgeon WOULDN'T CROP HIS TAIL while he had to be under anesthesia anyway because of her "personal convictions against animal mutilation" though he "mutilates" his tail every week or so...  what about that?  Have you ever experienced a vet who puts their own concerns over the health of your pet?

    I use the vacuum attachment.

For the love of God, don't chop the dog's tail.  It would be like cutting your arm off.

It's not nearly as bad as it sounds! We didn't want to get Tysons tail cropped because I didn't want him to have to go under the knife, be in pain, and it just sounds really awful! But, his tail got so bad that he would yelp if we touched it and would walk down the hall sideways to avoid it hitting anything. We finally just had to amputate it. He felt so much better! He was in more pain before he got it amputated than 2 days after surgery, he didn't even need his pain pills when he came home. Life&Gwen I'd keep an eye on your "little guy's" tail. FWIW, it cost us about $150 to get it taken care of, including the antibiotics he was on a few days before surgery and a 2 night stay. Big Smile Good luck and seriously potential robber? Idiot.

  • Find a neighbor kid and pay em $20 to do all your baseboards.
