Lucy climbed out of the crib last night :(

So we had to drop her mattress all the way down on the floor.

She slept fine but it is really hard for me to get her in there.

Mama's who have kids in big kid beds or have kids that have climbed out what have you done?

I'm thinking we could just have her  "bed" on the floor  but I know there will be some training involved with keeping her in that bed

Re: Lucy climbed out of the crib last night :(

  • Eek!  I'm glad she's okay after climbing out. I really, REALLY hope Mariela never tries this.  I've heard that you can buy crib tents that are like screened in covers to keep little ones from climbing out, but I think they look rediculous and if M ever tries to climb out I'll probably use the opportunity to transition her to a bed.

I did some reading on it, but I have no experience on actually making the transfer.

  • yea I dont' think we will do a crib tent. We will either keep it as it is with it dropped all the way on the floor or we will transition her to a "floor bed" especially since we will be TTC , if she could be in a bed by the time the new baby came that would be best

  • our BBB has a crib tent set up and C laughed and laughed at it. We'll probably transition to toddler beds (side-less crib) when the time comes.

my brother launched himself from the crib at 10 months and spent 2 yrs sleeping on his mattress on the floor.

  • My brother used to climb out of his crib and my mom would find him sleeping on the floor. They moved him to a bed, but I don't know how old he actually was.
