We're Moving to Clive!!
We finally found our home, and should be moving the first part of July. Yay! We don't have much time, so we're trying to get all of our ducks in a row before things start to get super crazy.
Does anyone have any recommendations for home owner's insurance? We currently have Allstate, and I know they have some offices in WDM, but want to check out our other options as well.
What about carpet cleaners? Any good ones we should go with to have our entire house cleaned?
Also - are there more than one company for eletric, gas and tv/cable?

Congrats! That's a quick move, but it'll beat a 2hr commute, huh?
For homeowner's insurance we use State Farm because we have them for car insurance so we get a multi-line discount. The office we use is in Adel and we love them, but if you want convenience, there are plenty here in town.
I don't know about carpet cleaners, we don't have enough carpet to bother paying someone.
As far as I know, there's only one option each for electric/gas (MidAmerican) and cable (Mediacom), unless you want satellite in which case there are Dish and Directv.
Yay! Great news! We have our Homeowners with American Family, we also have all of our cars, etc with them and get the multi discount.
When we 1st moved to DM about 3 years ago we went with Mediacom. When we moved to Ankeny about 7 months ago we went with Qwest/DirectTV. Honestly, I liked Mediacom better.

Congrats! We use IMT insurance for both home and our cars. I send my bills to Des Moines, but our agent lives in my hometown 2 1/2 hours away

ETA: MidAmerican will be your electric/gas company. Each city has their own water department that you pay monthly, which also includes your trash/recycling service (or at least it does in Urbandale). We use Mediacom for TV and high speed internet.
If you already have AllState, My agent's office is great, its also Molly's agent(s)- she gave the rec! #225-6401 Betty is SO nice!
For carpet, the people that cleand our duct work were great! They are ProDry. Wonderful company!
We have DirectTV, through Qwest, as well as our home phone. I'm personally not a fan of Mediacom, or their phone service. Hope this helps!
We use Betty also! Have had good experience so far and been with her for about 5 years now.
