I survived the weekend!!
The bridal shower and bachelorette party weekend is O.V.E.R. and not soon enough! I survived and I could not be happier to not deal with this bridal party again until the wedding in October.
I didn't show up to early to help with the shower because I still can't do my physical labor (like lifting heavy stuff) and they already had a ton of girls setting up the favors so I arrived on time. Plus, I took care of the bridal party gift (getting the wine basket idea, buying the wine, wrapping the present and bringing it). I didn't know until the night before that we had seating arrangements and I should have guessed that I would be sitting with the bridal party. I already wanted to switch tables to be far away from the other MOH. Since I arrived late, they put me in a spot that allowed me not to sit next to her but rather next to the bride and another BM... thank god! And thank god for wine and champagne punch. It's not a surprise that only 2 glasses gave me a buzz because of my low tolerance and the fact that I took benedryll that morning, haha. I sat there in zombie mode for most of it. I let the other BMs take over when it came to running the games. It would have been nice the mother of the bride showed us the games ahead of time... or had an ANSWER KEY for the word scramble, lyrics games and such. We had to figure it out on our own...nice. I was given the duty of making the bow hat and I was happy because I could sit in my own little quiet world with my ribbons. I had an okay exchange with the other MOH because I suggested she record the bride's gifts on the back of the cards (not like it was an original idea but since I'm the only one that's been in weddings before and the only married one, I know what I'm doing). She seemed to genuinely like that idea and thanked me. Too bad her witch of a mother was invited -- she didn't even make eye contact with me or attempt to say hello (let alone congratulate me on my baby). We used to be best friends and I was over her house constantly all through Jr. High and HS... but whatever -- I hate her mother more than her but that's another story, lol.
As for the bachelorette party, I planned not to go when I got word about my job. My mother, however, insisted I go and that she would pay. A very sweet gesture but I really didn't want to be there. On the other hand, my other best friend was going and I didn't want to leave her alone with the crazy bridal party. I showed up at 10am for breakfast and was immediately ticked off. I SPECIFICALLY emailed the bridal party to tell them I bought the bride a veil and glued condoms all over it among other presents. I had suggested they make her a bride shirt (none of them planned to get her ANYTHING until I said it, ugh). Well, guess what? They already made her a veil and she was wearing it when I arrived. Seriously???? Of course, when she opened my present she said, "Oh. I can wear this the night before the wedding." It just put me in a foul mood. On top of that, the BMs all became buddy buddy with the MOH since they were staying at her parents' house (they all hated her when we visited the bride in college). I am sure they bonded over "Bridezilla is a PITA" stories lol. I sat with my other best friend and just made our own comments. We hit up 5 wineries but the MOH never called to see if there were charges for the tastings. She just assumed since it wasn't on the websites that it was free. There were charges at every single one. Everything they did annoyed me. And after going all day from 10AM-6PM they still wanted to go out and do dinner. I said no, which I am sure ticked them off and went home. I have a baby, I was up since 6am (and of course wasn't asleep the entire night because of a newborn) and I already had to pump once while we were out... I didn't want to do it again. I wanted out of there so badly.
What's sad is that as much as I love my best friend and I'm happy that she's getting married, I feel like we are drifting apart. I'm sure it will all get better after the wedding!!

Awe that's awesome. I've been there once and I wasn't too impressed with their service, they weren't very nice to my sister and I. I guess I'll give 'em another shot.
It could be that it was around 11AM and the only ones there so we had no issue with service. That stinks. I did love their wine though -- there are three I am going back to buy (I like the sweet stuff).
