Garden girls

I found this article, and plan to do it myself. Thought it might be a good idea for you girls too, since even our irrigation water isn't cheap! Of course, that would mean it would have to rain sometime!

Re: Garden girls

  • My parents have 2 of these, and I'm so jealous thinking about it every time we run our sprinkler! I think we're going to get one/buy one this summer, they're like, $90-100 at Lowe's or HD, I didn't realize I could make one! Our drain comes out right by our garden patches, too, so it would be so easy to use.

  • We have a downspout to replace at one corner of the back of the house, and I was considering that spot for the garden anyway, so I'm thinking of putting one there.

I would never have even thought of it had I not seen it, but given how much I was complaining at our last JEA bill (and our currently busted irrigation line in the back yard), it's definitely getting used in our yard!

  • We have a rain barrel. We got it at Lowes. It's nice, it's actually in the front yard but hidden behind some big bushes. Now DH wants to get a huge one for the backyard.
