The Perfect Woman

A friend of mine said she was told she was the "perfect woman" because she was able to be a sports fan yet still loves to do all the things other women do.

What do you think makes you the "perfect" woman?

Re: The Perfect Woman

  • What makes me the perfect woman is that I fully acknowledge and own the fact that I am imperfect.

Yes Like. Well said. I was trying to think of this same thing, because my first thought when reading the OP was "hell, I'm FAAAAAAR from perfect!"

  • I think I am the "perfect" woman because I can be a geek with the boys and still dance with the ladies.  I love video games on the couch but can still throw a dress on and pretty myself up when need be.  I can play beer pong and sip martinis in the same night.  I chow down on pizza and play Magic the Gathering when the guys are over, then go out for sushi and sake and catch a chick flick when the girls are in town.

Thats why I put perfect in quotes, ladies!

Clearly no one is perfect by definition, but what is it that makes you think YOU'RE perfect, say, to your husband, your friends, etc...

Give yourself some props, will ya?? ;p

I'll try. Embarrassed But I will have to say that after yesterday at the ILs I've been pretty down on myself. So I may have to dig hard to find my own little diamond in the rough.

  • Honestly, I'm not.

I hate to cook and clean. I also have a tough time getting along with females b/c I just don't put up with drama. 99.9% of my friends have always been guys. BUT, I guess I can say that I can hang with the guys ( drink beer -for-beer), watch & go to sporting events, work the grill and build stuff from scratch but also like to get all dressed up and go out dancing with the few females I can put up with. I like to get my nails done and wear make-up.

  • OH! I've got one!!

I'm understanding of my husband. We actually communicate really well according to other married couples. We've always had this ground rule that I don't care where he goes, what he does, or who he goes with....I just need to know when they're leaving, where they'll be, who is going, and when they'll be home.

Example: Danny and his BIL and some friends took their buddy bowling and to a strip joint for his birthday. ALLLLL the other husbands lied to their wives about the strip joint. Danny said to me (word for word): "We're taking Josh bowling and then we're going to embarrass him at the strip club. We'll be leaving at x time and home at x time." My response: "Do you need singles??" Stick out tongue

But seriously, I said, have fun as long as you don't get a lap dance. ALLL the other husbands got ratted out (not by me) and the wives wanted to know if I was mad at Danny and after I told them that he said that's where they were going, they were in disbelief that I "let" him go! I've been told, "you are the most understanding wife I've ever met to let her husband go to a strip club." I said, "No, I just have an honest husband."

  • oooooh... that reminds me.

Chris' BFF (do guys have those?) is still living the bachelor life at his parents house, so his family went away for a week, and this kid hired a pair of strippers for a night.  I allowed Chris to go.  I think that wins me mucho points in the awesome wife column.

  • Jay has said this before to friends as to why I'm the perfect wife for him; and I quote "She'll bake me a cake and bl*w me while I eat it!" It makes me laugh because it's true but of course there's more to it as well.

I can be very domestic and nurturing but I'll always call him on his sh!t. We tend to bicker because we look at things very differently but it causes us to challenge each other and really listen to the other person and if it goes to far we always apologize. I love to watch football and drink with friends. I also have no problem with each of us doing our own thing; like when he has Dungeon and Dragons night at our house and I go screaming(silently) for the hills. I'm very accepting of his interests that I do not care for and give him ample opportunity to partake in them.

  • I love to cook and clean. I also love to give road head (I have bo idea why). I believe that this makes me a perfect woman.
  • Yeah, the stripper thing just happened to us, too. They went OOT for a friend's bachelor party. Every other guy lied to his wife/forever girlfriend about it. Totally not a big deal to me.

I think that's sort of what makes me "perfect" or at least to Robin. I'm a pretty low-maintenance gal. I don't have a million rules or have to have things done a certain way. I don't spend hours getting ready. I don't have fat days or get crazy PMS. I'm not a brand-whore and don't spend a ton on monthly hair/nail/waxing/massage appointments. I don't treat him like he's stupid, and I'm the only one around here who has sense enough to do anything.

Oh nevermind. Apparently, Kristen is Robin's perfect wife.

I wish I could be more like you. Wink

    SIGH. I dunno. I'll try.

I am the perfect woman to my husband because I can hang with his friends and fit right in, I don't mind drinking beer and watching horror movies, and I can swear like a sailor with the best of 'em. And sometimes I look hot.

  • I'm the perfect woman because I'm a die-hard sports fan. I would much rather sit by the couch and watch football and drink beer rather than go to the ballet (yuck!). Also, I can be really girly without sounding unintelligent. On that same note, I'm smart. I'm the one kid in the class that always LOVED school not because of the social aspect, but because I genuinely love to learn.

Also, I know how to work it.  ;-)
