This is going to be long but a crazy story from this weekend:
I have 3 little sisters (25, 22, 18) - and the 22yo, Heidi, went out drinking Sat night with a few "friends." We also went out, and I had a wedding to photograph yesterday so we were back home and in bed by midnight. About 330 my phone rings and it's my mom freaking out as some woman FOUND my sister stumbling incoherently in the streets of New Bedford. For those of you who aren't from MA, NB is a pretty ugly place. This is incredibly frightening on it's own and definitely not like my sister. We are all pretty good kids.
Anyways - this lady tells my mom she has three daughters and just HAPPENED to go that way home after a grad party, it is not her normal drive home. She sees Heidi, half on the sidewalk, pulls up and asks her if she needs help, she is all alone. Heidi is crying and says she just wants to go home. the lady says get in my car and she does. Terrifying. The what-ifs are innumerable. The lady goes back to find her phone as she doesn't have it on her and calls the first number which is my dad. His phone is NEVER on at night, EVER. He always turns it off about 8pm as they have a house phone. Well, Sat night? He left it on and my parents heard it ringing at 3am. Crazy. The woman than proceeds to tell my parents where she is and that Heidi is okay but obv intoxicated. She then takes Heidi back to her house and gives her a blanket as they await my mom's arrival. So my mom drives to NB to pick her up and she is blacked out wasted, soaking wet from the rain, and bawling her eyes out. They go to the hospital and find out she has a B.A.L. of 2.5! this AFTER THREE hours of waiting! She has no recollection of anything after a beer and 3 rum and cokes. Thankfully they found no drugs or evidence she had be violated as she didn't know what went on for 2 hours.
So now the bad shocking part. My 'rents start calling her friends she was supposed to be with to get the story and turns out her DD saw her do a shot and then walk out with her "Crush"... figures they are going to make out somewhere. DD calls her about 20 mins later, no answer, calls him, no answer - this goes on til 330 when I called the DD (also a friend of mine) and said WTF is going on. She calls my rents and tells them who Heidi was with and his parents went to HS w/ my parents - so they call the house and he is fast asleep in bed.
Turns out this no good peice of sh*t - did take my sister back to his car and they went for a ride - Heidi threw up in his car so he pulled over into a Walgreens parking lot so she could keep throwing up - and THEN HE LEFT. Left my 5'5" 120lb blond sister in a parking lot in New Bedford at 2 in the morning. OMG if i ever see this kid i'm going to punch his f'ing lights out. As my mom put it, "I wouldn't ever leave a dog on the side of the road in NB, never mind a 22 year old girl." Then he goes home and doesn't even call the DD to tell her, or anyone else! Holy WTF! Even my DH called his cousin who went to HS w/ us to let him know the same thing. Thankfully the jerk's parents were as shocked as my parents and weren't playing the "not my kid" card.
So yeah - my mom went back to that ladies house last night w/ a plant and thank you cards and my sister to thank her again as she truly saved Heidi's life. No doubt had she not pulled over today would be a totally different day. The woman even admitted she felt drawn to that location and couldn't believe it when she saw this blond girl stumbling half in the street half on the sidewalk at 3am.
So just when you think the world is full of sh*theads (like my sisters "Crush) there are some awesome people out there, who sometimes just happen to be in the right place at the right time. Also - no such thing as coincidences, there is no doubt in my mind the woman and my dad's phone were that way for a reason. Thank God for that.

Oh, what a nice guy to leave her on the side of the road....(rolls eyes)
So glad this story turned out ok - it sounds like it could have been a whole lot worse. So scary!
Wow! Your sister is uber lucky! Definitely sounds like an angel was sent to watch over her twice! Once with being left in the bad part of town and again with a 2.5 BAC She is very lucky to be alive.
I'm sure there have been numerous times when an angel has been watching over me but nothing ever this bad.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry that happened to all of you. I hope that your sister is doing alright, that can be a very very scary situation. I can only imagine the thoughts running through you and your parents minds when all of this was going on, no one ever wants to think of their loved ones in trouble.
I am apalled at how that boy treated your sister. Its amazing how dumb and inconsiderate people can be. I would totally beat the crap out of him if I saw him.
All that matters is that she is safe now, and I do think that someone was looking out for her and your family that night.
