Re-dipping your rings

Girls with white gold rings, have you got your rings re-dipped yet?  How often do you need to have it done?

Re: Re-dipping your rings

  • It really depends on your personal preference.  They don't have to be dipped, but if the yellowy tint bothers you, the store I used to work for recommended once every year or two.
  • I got mine done on the e-ring before the wedding.  It had taken some abuse like any jewelry does when worn daily.

It looked BRAND NEW.  Seriously.  It looked like it did the day he put it on my finger.  I kept staring at it like I did in the beginning.  LOL.

I am planning to do both rings some time this summer.  I know that some places say to do it every 6 months but it's totally up to you.  Some ladies do it once a year and some never do at all.

  • I haven't done either of my rings yet. My wedding ring looks like it did a year ago, but it's probably time to get my e-ring done.

  • We were engaged for 13 months so I re-dipped my e-ring shortly before our wedding. I am planning to get it done again this summer (for both rings) because they're looking a bit yellow. I'll probably get it done once a year. I'm a little hesitant because last time I got it done, one of my small diamonds fell out. I do have diamond replacement insurance though and I love how shiny and new the band looked.
  • I just had both my rings and H's band done a month ago.  They looked SOO much better afterwards, especially H's!  It really made the rings look brand new again.  Our jeweler does it for free as often as we like, so I'll probably get it done at least once a year.

  • I have had mine done twice since getting married. Our jewelry store does them for free, so I just usually let them tell me when I need it. I go in every six months to get the prongs checked anyway. I just recently got it done b/c I was starting to see the yellow gold on my e-ring.

  • It's in my e ring's warranty that it has to be redipped once a year. I had it redipped last May, just before the wedding and it was for real brand new looking, like others have mentioned.

  • I havent had it redipped yet. My e-ring and wedding band both look brand new. I am sure I will need it done evenrtually but not yet. Although, I really cant look at my rings right now because they are at the jeweler getting cleaned- I get them back today.
