I have a massive headache and I am so utterly exhausted from this weekend.
Friday night Relay prep, Saturday I was at setting up/doing Relay from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. I came home, showered, ate and went to bed. EB, how did you make out at your Relay?
Sunday I made myself breakfast, washed the couch slipcovers and some blankets, unpacked my car and put Relay stuff away, clipped coupons, cleaned the powder room, dusted and vacuumed the living room and dining room. I got a pedi and brow wax, went food shopping, and got Popeye's for dinner at MFD's request. It was actually really good.
I watched FNL and some Mob Wives. I wanted to go to bed earlier than I did. I fell out around 11.
My Relay has raised $36,700+ so far this year. I need to have a committee wrap up meeting then I can put this to bed for a month before starting up for next year. I have a lot to think about and change. I am going to go to another Relay on 6/25 to see what's up at other ones.
I was thinking last night my MIL never contacts me, even through FB like never even likes a status. I thought maybe I should contact her, then I thought screw it. Many people do not talk to their inlaws regularly. I've tried many times over many years. She has her effed up daughter and family to worry about, so I won't worry about her. I will tell my husband he should ask his parents to dinner soon so though so she stops writing things on his FB wall like "Hope all is well, I miss you," making it sound like he's dead. Sorry lady, you're at the shore every weekend. You're the one who's out of town, not your son. Go scratch. Just a little pity party rant.
Re: Monday already
Helloo. H and I made it back from NYC alive. Went down Friday night and crashed. Woke up Saturday morning, went down into Manhattan, hung out and went to Barnes & Noble, then Cosi's for lunch, followed the Festival of India tour / parade down 5th Avenue, stopped at a free rock and roll concert in the park, window shopped, went to the MLB FanZone (built for a guy who won a contest and now his job for a year is to watch every MLB game), then met up with SIL and went to a bar. Then, we met up with BM and a bunch of our friends for BM's birthday celebration. We went to a Japanese restaurant selling 32oz beer mugs for $5.00, then went to another bar on the Upper East side having an open bar for $25.00 - unlimited drinks. This is why we *love* Manhattan!
The next day we got breakfast with SIL, visited with his family, and left around 2pm to come home. Whirlwind weekend and I am still exhausted from it. SO much fun though. Somehow after we got home yesterday I found energy to clean a little and do four loads of laundry, then spent the rest of the night reading the new book I bought at Barnes & Noble - Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. I'm hooked already.
Steph~congrats on Relay! That's awesome!!
City~Glad you had a good time in NYC :-) The farthest east I have been in TN...oops. Someday I will get out there and now I have an excuse since my little brother is over there!
We had people at our house friday night and all day saturday and saturday night. Yesterday we were gone all day. Saturday I actually cleaned my bathroom while people were at my house because it had to get done and they weren't leaving. Im just like that I guess.
One of Toby's exs that we are still friends with found 5 abandoned kittens that are 3 weeks old and she's having to bottle feed. We are adopting 2! We have to wait until they are eating soft food (2ish weeks) though because we are gone the next 3 weekends and my schedule here at work doesn't allow for me to run home every 3 hours to feed.
Steph- Awesome job!
Citygirl- So jelous. I hope to visit NYC next March.
Jedaniel- I'm not normally a pina colada person except on vacation (Hawaii).
Jessie- Aww...I want a kitten too.
Sometimes I really hate teachers and their annoyingness. I hate the beginning of school and camp when they all come to me an ask stupid question/ want me to drop what I'm doing to do/get something for them. Or when they ask me a question either argue with my answer or ask someone else when they are going to get the same answer or even better will get I don't know go ask Xtine.. End of my rant!
I felt bad I told my friend we would watch her cats this weekend (because she doesn't trust her roommats) as long as Pierce is ok with it all, he hates cats the lurk in the neighborhood. I thought maybe if he was introduced to them he would actually really like them. Well he tried to eat them out of the cages. So we could not watch them. I feel she is kinda pissed at me but I did warn her that it might not work.
Saturday night I actually went out. We went to Howl At The Moon a dueling piano bar. It was a good time and by 11pm I wanted to go home because i was tired. I'm just proud I actually went out but this is why I don't like going out any more because I feel bad making Greg go home when I don't want to stay out till 3am. So most weekend I just let him go by himself with the guys.
Morning!
Steph, your Relay sounds like a big success! Fun stuff. Hope you catch up on sleep soon.
Xtine, hope your friend gets over it soon. That's pretty annoying of her, though. Just put the cats in Petsmart of whatever and be done with it.
We had a pretty lazy weekend, partly because I was so exhausted from my Friday. I had to get up at 5ish to leave the house by 6ish to go to San Francisco to present at a conference. Got home about 7pm, and didn't get to bed until 11. H had hockey and then went to play poker (ummm, how about spending time with your wife?), and it's hard for me to get to sleep when he's not there.
Saw Super 8 on Saturday and enjoyed it. Yesterday I really just lounged, reading, doing laundry, and that kind of thing.
Oh! We ordered our hardwood floors last week, and they'll be in this Friday, and installed the 21st-22nd. Yay!
Steph - awesome job on the relay! That's so great!
This weekend was really productive. We finally painted the half bath that has been ripped apart since last March (!!!) I cannot wait to have this damn thing done so that I don't have a pedestal sink and light fixture in my living room floor anymore!
We also cleaned up K's Harley and posted on Craigslist to sell, got his truck cleaned up and ready to donate, donated a couple of our old kayaks, gathered stuff for Goodwill, cleaned up the house, finished laundry and dishes and then grilled out last night. K made some delicious pork chops, and it was so nice out last night!
I can't believe it's back to Monday again already. Blah.
hey all!
I was off (final furlough day) on Friday and was just able to get on here now (close to noon) and i'm having withdrawls!
Steph- good job on relay!!!
This weekend we went to carnival/beer tent celbration. A lot more of our friends found out about us being pregnant since I wasn't drinking. My ex was there and kept asking why i wasn't drinking, so finally i gave in and told him why. I found it rewarding somewhat. (might be a little sick and wrong, but i don't care.) kinda like "ha! you jerk! Not only did i find someone better than you and marry him, but now we're going to have a baby and it's going to be cutier than if i had one with you!"
Morning sickness was in full force yesterday. J was super hungover and hugging the toliet in one bathroom and I was running to the other. Our poor dog didn't know what was going on and kept running back and forth to us. :-)
Ugh, I need it to be 4:30 already. I'm tired!
Oh goodness, that's funny. I hope your m/s isn't too bad. B6 did seem to help me, although nothing helped as much as meds!
I gotta tell you, even though I'm friends with my ex-bf (we dated for about 6 years), it was very cool to be able to tell him I'm pg before we went to his wedding last month. I was getting paranoid that he and his wife would get pg before we did, because I know they're going to try soon because she's older than us, like 37 now.
How is it? It sounds interesting, but I'm on the fence about reading it.
It's really good so far, but it's definitely one of those darker books so if you're not in the mood for a book with a morbid atmosphere, I'd say try to find something else!
And thanks! We did good this time. Usually we're not so lucky
We also hit up the Museum of Sex which was quite interesting - how could I forget to mention that one? lol
