Checking in - non-baby updates, anyone?
Hey everyone! I hope you have all had a good few months. Honestly, I've been avoiding this board since my miscarriage. It just seems like every post is pregnancy related anymore. I'm truly happy for all of you, it's just been hard to read.
Does anyone have any non-baby updates to share? Besides getting KU, what have you all been up to? My google-reader feed on this board says that Steph bought a house - congrats! Has anyone else been house hunting?
ETA: This is Robyn, I changed my screen name.
Re: Checking in - non-baby updates, anyone?
Hi Robyn! It's good to see you back!
H and I won't be joining the baby wagon until December '11/January '12, so no baby updates from me. Nothing really new going on, except that I feel like every weekend I'm going to another bridal or baby shower (and I'm sick to death of them with two to go). H passed his EMT training course and goes for his state licensing exam on Saturday! If he passes that, he goes on to the written portion within the month. Once that's over...he's done! And certified, and can work.
We're going on a much-needed vacation in January '12. I can't wait.

Hi Robyn!
No baby updates here either, and probably not for a while. Nothing really exciting to share though.
I guess the biggest thing for me right now is trying to figure out which training plan to follow when I run my first full marathon in Jan 2012. It's exciting and scaring the crap out of me at the same time, haha!
Hi Robyn!
Raangoli- so cool that you are doing one. I cannot seem to get beyond the first few weeks of Couch to 5k before I screw up my knee and then have to start over again. I think I will be stuck with biking.
No new updates really for me. We are just getting finished up with the yard for the summer. And we have to buy a new garage door. Sometimes I feel like I am bleeding money. Funny how when we first got hitched we had all this extra income. Now it seems like we've fallen into spending it all again. Whoops.
I'm trying to think of some good weekend trips for Nov. for our anniversary. Anyone have some good ideas? We want it to be relatively cheap ($1000 total). Right now we are thinking the Keys.
Nothing new here - just trying to find a workout routine that works for me. I've started jogging/walking about our neighborhood and I'm really liking it.
I'm planning my friends bridal shower for July so thats exciting, going to the beach this weekend and Cancun in Sept. DH and I wont be TTC until next year so I'm just trying to enjoy life pre-baby for how.

Not even thinking about babies!
We're both looking for new jobs. I've been networking like crazy and have finally gotten some solid leads and even an interview (yay)! DH is getting a ton of calls, so I think something better for him is right around the corner.
DH decided to start a new green card application through marriage. We had to fire the lawyer, so I am filling out a remarkable number of forms myself.
We've also been looking for a new apartment for months now... and there's nothing. We bid on one and were turned down and mostly I see unlivable stuff.
On a more fun and exciting note, I finally booked our next vacation for October to Peru. I am super excited about seeing somewhere new! We might also be going to India in March because it looks like SIL will get married *fingers crossed*
I have a non-baby update! I haven't been on here in a couple weeks. I went down to Charleston for a job interview, and I didn't get the job unfortunately. DH and I are headed on vacation with DS on Saturday, so once we get back, the job hunt starts again, though we are considering delaying our big move until next summer (as originally planned) in part for financial reasons (bigger down payment/nest egg built up before we go) and for familial ones (we are both thrilled with the teacher DS got for next year, and we think she will do wonders for him).
We're also looking into a trip for our anniversary in November. We got a Living Social offer today for the place we spent our wedding night (Middleton Inn), and we're contemplating buying into that one and spending our one year anniversary there, too!

No babies here either... DH has been working out of town a lot (he's been gone over 3 weeks on this trip) so I've been working around the house getting things like I want them - I've painted my closet hot pink and my dining room dark teal (just the bottom portion) and I'm working on reupholstering our dining room chairs. It's fun to be working on all this stuff, but MAN would it be better if DH was here too!
I'm jealous of all these vacation plans... I've got nothing. DH is about an hour from San Francisco right now, and if I'd know he would be there for this long, I might have tried to make a long-weekend vacation out of it. But, that doesn't look like it's happening. I really want to do an anniversary trip too... but I'm just not sure if it's in the cards. I'm thinking a local getaway, maybe just staying at a nice hotel in the metroplex or something. DH doesn't really like touristy things, so who knows.
Hey all,
Life has been busy on my end. DH got a new job and I continue to search for a new one, but only if appropriate ones come up...and even then I'm hesitant. DH and I have decided that we will likely move next year (out of the state), so I don't think a new job is the best move for me - for him, on the other hand, he can transfer to cities all over the world (thanks Google).
We're planning a vacation to the east coast this fall - Boston, DC, and New York (Book of Mormon anyone?).
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with no plans for babies any time soon.
