Can anyone sway me either way? The miele seems to get better reviews, but of course the one that I like with the hepa filter is $799 (the S7580 bolero). It seems fairly new, does anyone have that one?
Re: miele vs dyson
I used to work at Bed Bath & Beyond and they sold both vacuums, the Dyson I think is the best. There are no bags with the Dyson and it gets all the animal hair and everything a regular dyson does not. The Miele needs bags which over time costs more and what if the model goes out then it is harder to find bags.
The Dyson also has cyclone suction and has great warranty (not sure what warranty on Miele is though)
I just personally like Dyson better.

I have a Dyson and I'll probably be the lone voice of dissent here, but I hate it. It doesn't pick up larger particles. The canister doesn't hold much and I have to empty it midway through a room. It's bulky and it doesn't fit under the toe kicks on my kitchen cabinetry, or under the couches or end tables. The attachment wand is annoying to use. You have to take the handle apart in order to use the hose, and the vacuum tends to tip over when its being used. The attachments constantly fall off.
I was happier with my cheap Hoover that picked up cheerios and was lightweight and fit under stuff and had a super easy to use hose that didn't require unwinding the entire cord and taking half the vacuum apart.
