i had a $10 off $40 in groceries coupon. my total was $40.85. i had some regular coupons so i made sure to give him the $10 off $40 first because i knew my other coupons would pull me below $40. he took the $10 off $40 coupon no problem, and then took my regular coupons. i was happy that worked and then he said, "oh, did you give me your store card?" oops! i honestly forgot. so he ran that and my total with everything ended up being $21. i'm happy about that, don't get me wrong, but i'm wondering if this normally would have been allowed. after all if i had done everything in a different order, i never would have been able to use the $10 off $40 because my groceries would have totalled around $30 with my other coupons and store card.
i have more of the $10 off $40 coupons and am curious - did i learn a trick, or did i get away with something i shouldn't have?
Re: coupon question: is this allowed?
I don't have answer for you, but I will say that I did the same thing once at Winn Dixie. Only it was $10 off of $50. I handed that one to the cashier first and then handed her the rest. I don't know if it would have mattered. However, she did rin my store card before I gave her any coupons.
WTG, tho!
thanks!
cute siggy!
Ditto NOLA, such a cute idea!
I would agree! That's fanstastic! I feel like it's mostly computerized anyway, so if the comp let you do it, then you are good to go! Remember to do it that way next time!
