Let's get this party started!
Please introduce yourself (or re introduce if you are a long timer
)! Tell us anything you would like about you, DH, home, pets, kids, ect. I know I would love to get to know some of the newer ones on here, and reconnect with the "oldie but goodie" crew! Maybe this thread will inspire others to follow!
Going to finish the first coat on our fence and I will be back to write my "re intro" post soon!

Re: Let's get this party started!
I've been on TK/TN since I got engaged so about 4 years. DH and I have been married for 2 years. No kids, were not sure if we want them or not. We've been talking about getting a dog lately. We just bought our first house a year ago on the west side so we've been busy working on that. I'm going to school part time. I don't post on this board often cause there isn't anything really happening
but I check it multiple time a day as I'm on the nest almost all day
I'm Lizzie and I just got married in March. I met my H when we were 16 and had been friends and never really thought about dating until we started spending more time together about 3 years ago. We are both a bit nerdy and like to play board games and video games. We both love to read but find it hard to find the time. We have a cat furbaby named Kitten and plan on having a human baby hopefully in the next year.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

I am Alaina and have been married to Matt since June of last year. We have an almost 7 year old (Mia) and a little boy on the way in August. We have a dog, Emmy, and live just south of Dayton. H is a CIO (translates to a big important IT job that I know nothing about...), and I work for an IT consulting firm. We are enjoying being homeowners, updating our house inside and out and like to spend as much time as possible outdoors. We LOVE to travel and try to get out and do trips pretty regularly, even if they are just short ones. We are currently planning a trip to Ireland and Scotland next year!
I am so excited that we have shaken this board up a bit! Getting forward to chatting with you all!
I'm Laura. Married DH in October of 08. We met on E-Harmony. I grew up on the East side of town & DH was born in Illinois.
We don't have any fur babies at the moment, but we have been volunteering at a local animal shelter lately and may find a new pup there at some point.
No kids, but we would love them if possible. I'm 43 & DH is 45.

I've been MIA the past month b/c of a new job, but.....I'm Teresa and H is Jeremy. We met in late December 2006, started dating a few weeks later in January 2007 and got engaged in December 2007. I was on the knot since Jan 07 and merged to the nest once we were married in Oct 09.
We will be married 2 years this coming October and we are loving married life! We are currently trying to sell our house; thought we would give it a shot, but we're not in any rush to go. Whatever happens, happens and we just go with the flow! We have a little princess cat named Yammy and she will is our only "baby" (we aren't having children). We plan on getting a dog later this year and it will be a Golden Retriever. I just switched jobs about a month ago which was a huge change for me/us. I was absolutely miserable in my old job, but am thrilled beyond belief that I decided to take the leap. Its awesome and I don't regret the move one bit! I'm also (still) working on my bachelor's degree in Criminal Psychology part time. H is in school full time for culinary management and has about a year and a 1/2 to go before he is done.
Other than that, we are enjoying being married and trying to spend as much time as possible together.
My name is Jenny and this is my first post here (I think). I check this board from time to time. We have been married for 2 years. No kids....still undecided regarding when to start a family. We have one very spoiled 6 year old cat named Maverick.
We are relocating from the Dallas area to Cincinnati TOMORROW for my husband's job. We will be spending some time house hunting in the Anderson area and Norwood/Madeira/Hyde Park area. Any guidance would be great!
I plan on joining the book club and getting in on some euchre parties. I am excited to make some new friends. I am a L&D nurse so I will also be looking for a job towards the end of the summer.
It is nice to meet y'all
Hey there! We're about to move to Anderson, although where we live right now is Anderson-ish anyway. I love that area. As far as house hunting, it really depends on what you're looking for. We chose Anderson because it's close to the city (but not the city), close to a lot of shopping/dining/activities, good school district, safe, and reasonable house prices. I love Madiera, too, but we were finding that with our budget we could get a 2 bedroom/1 bath/1000 square foot home in Madiera or something 1.5-2 times larger in Anderson!
We were also looking in Mariemont (although running into the same difficulties re: bang for buck), Milford, Loveland, and Blue Ash/Montgomery/Sycamore. Hyde Park is gorgeous, but if we stay in the house and have kids, I don't want to pay to send them to private school and I will NOT send them to Cinci Public! Parts of Norwood are ok, but a lot of Norwood seems kind of rundown to me - not unsafe, just not well kept up. The school system there is also kinda iffy. I know you're undecided about kids, but that affects home value too. And as always, what I post is just my opinion.
Hi! My name is Amanda and DH name is John. We will be married for two years in August. We live south of Dayton. We bought our first house last May so we have spend the last year just updating it and making it our own. I work as a bank teller right now and DH is in IT for a local medical manufacturing company. I will be finished with my Bachelors early next year and hope to find something other then banking. I am aiming right now towards event planning or Marketing related. We have one Dog who will be 3 in October. We got him when he was 9 months from another family that could not have him anymore so ever since then he has been nothing but spoiled. As for actual children we are going to start trying to have a baby later this year.
I'm Ashley & H is TJ. We just got married May 14. We were introduced through his sister which worked with me at Old Navy. She had tried to get me to go on a date with him & I wouldn't. About 5 months later he got my number from a friend...went on a date & it just continued. We have two furbabies..Becky is our Kittie cat (she is 15) Bella is our beagle/blue tick. Bubbles & Shaniqua are our Oscar fish. We are in the process of buying a house which has been frustrating. I am still in college & think I have finally decided on medical (took me forever!)
Not mine, he's from Connecticut!
