Screw you guy at work.
I was just asked what my plans are if you know, I go into labor while at work. I'm annoyed because, well, I have no idea.
Being that my hospital is, oh, 30 minutes away in the city. Oh and I'm due in 2.5 weeks. Holy scary crap.
And my husband works closer to the city (other side of the river from the hospital; not far...), takes the train, and doesn't make sense for him to get me.
I need to call my sister and ask her if she can...she lives in the town I work in, only caveat...she has 2 kids under 5.
Now hopefully I will be like my mom and it will happen in the middle of the night.

Are you planning to work right up until you go into labor?
Don't get too stressed about it. My water broke and I was able to get all my stuff together and dogs situated-went to the Dr to make sure I was definitely right and headed to the hospital which was about 20-25 minutes away. So basically my water broke at 3:30 and I didn't walk into the hospital until 4:45. And I was still walking and feeling fine.
AND worse case scenario-you call an ambulance. I was afraid I'd go into labor during a big snow storm and that's what my Dr kept telling me.
My co-workers asked me that when I hit 36 weeks. I was like, "Well, hell. I don't know. I just assume I'll go into labor at home and not even be here." I did work up until the day before I was induced though...but the hospital is only three minutes away from my old office, so I wasn't worried. Guess I should've been worried. Whoops.
I agree with Alyssa - I bet you'll have time, should you be at work when you go into labor. Definitely nice to have a back-up plan, but don't stress. I know everything will be fine!
Am I the only one who feels like your pregnancy has flown by? Possibly.
My plan was actually not to tell anyone if I did go into labor at work, because I would have caused paperwork for my coworkers by refusing to be seen in our emergency room because of EMTALA laws. Actually, I intended to keep working through contractions as long as I could or until my water broke. Would I actually have? Who knows! But like Alyssa said, I'm sure you'd be fine, even with the long trip to the hospital.

I just IMd my sister and told her she may be getting a call. So she is forewarned.
If you do go into labor at work, I should have plenty of time, I wouldn't stress about it.

This. But because I didn't want to be taken to the Army hospital or even the nearest non-Army hospital. A guy at work asked me when they should take me to the hospital. I said to take me if I asked him to or if I was unconscious/unresponsive. My plan was to tell work I was going home sick, drive myself home (30-45 min, depending on traffic), and call Rodgers on the way, and worst-case, call 911.
