Do you remember buying your first bra?

I remember, vididly, having to get my first bra. I was in the 4th grade and I was HORRIFIED! I got it from Anthony's. Was Anthony's a national chain? Or just an Oklahoma thing?

I remember an old lady (like, SUPER old, like 70) measuring me, because I was way beyond training bra stage. It was just so embarassing.

I thought about it the other day when I was in Lane Bryant buying new bras.

We were in a Kmart shopping and my Mom bought bras for my sister and I and put them in the grocery cart. Later, we were looking for my Dad and there he was across the store waving our bras in the air to get our attention.

It's been a lifetime of being embarrassed by him

I don't remember buying it, but I remember going on our fifth grade field trip and my Dad snapping it before we left to make sure I was wearing it, because well I was also beyond training bra stage but I hated wearing it

I remember being mortified that I *didn't* need a bra in 8th grade. I was in a training bra then (because if you didn't have bra straps you'd get mocked mercilessly in gym). I remember a friend of mine showing me how to stuff a bra (she of the miraculous D cup took pity on my AA cup)...

I really don't remember buying my first bra, but I needed one in second grade. Sometime around fourth grade, a boy in my class snapped the strap. He got in trouble.

At Christmas, when we got clothing as gifts, we used to play runway model. Socks and underwear were exempt. When all of the girls started getting bras, the modeling stopped.

I remember buying my first (completely unnecessary) training bra when I was in grade 7. My mum had been talking on the phone to one of my friend's mum's, and she hung up and came rushing over to me and said, "Eeva, you never told me you were the only girl in your class who didn't have a bra!". I was so ashamed, and embarrassed, I hung my head, and said nothing. I remember feeling my cheeks burning. Truly, only about three girls in the class actually needed those little cloth triangles, but I felt so embarrassed that my mum hadn't got me one. And I was too ashamed to ask her. She said, "I'm so sorry for not getting you one". And we went out to a little store in the next town over and bought three! I had a sportsy sort of one. A batenburg lace AA or AAA cup, complete with showy underwires (very pretty--I still wish I had that one), and a plain triangle lacey one. I felt a huge weight lift off of my shoulders that day.

I don't really remember buying my first bra, but I remember my mom harassing me when I was in 5th or 6th grade at Thanksgiving about needing a bra. It was after dinner and EVERYONE in the family was still sitting around the table still. I get humilated easily anyways, so thanks mom! I still remember that awful Thanksgiving!

I was so embarrased that day. I was always with my grandma so she is the one who bought it for me. I remember going to Target and she kept telling me okay well pick one, and she would hold them up to me and I just sank. Then a week later she told me she had a present. She had a very pretty box wrapped in a bow. I opened it thinking it was a jewelry box or maybe a movie but no..it was a bunch of different kinds of tampons, panty liners, pads, a book on "girls: learning about your body" I was horrified to say the least.

I'm pretty sure I win giantest bewbs award around here... they suck. lol
