Margarita party help!

So I was going to do tropical drink lollipops out of chocolate for the favors and put them standing up in styrofoam covered in sand and sea shells....however.....I have looked for days and I can't find any tropical drink chocolate molds.

I'm thinking of doing sugar cookies on sticks and frosting them with details.

What do you think?

DO you also think if I make all the cookies on thursday they will get too hard by saturday? I would put them in a container until frosting them friday and saturday.

I'm thinking this may be less time consuming because I'll be able to cook hopefully a dozen at a time instead of 5 at a time like the plane favors I did for the wedding. However the frosting will def get time consuming but it's ok right, the thought that counts?

Re: Margarita party help!

  • Hey, I think you will be fine making the cookies a couple days ahead of time and then frosting them.  Make sure you post pictures, I bet they will look awesome!

  • The cookies should be fine, I just wouldn't put them in the fridge.  We made cookies for all of our OOT guests at the wedding and we made them a week out and just didn't put them in the fridge, and they were fine.

would these molds work?? they're martini glasses, but you could totally make them work with different colored chocolate...plus, they're only 2.99 a mold so you could order a few and get them done faster, if you really had your heart set on the lollipops (which I think is adorable!)

otherwise I think the cookies are a great idea as well! I agree, don't put them in the fridge though!
