I Need a pizza dough recipe!
Anybody have a good (and healthy) pizza dough recipe? I've tried a few I found online and they've all been a bust! I prefer a thicker crust vs a thin crust.
TIA!

I use this (minus the rosemary) for pizza. It works out nicely and its pretty thick and holds up well. I pre-bake it THEN add on the toppings (sauce cheese whatever) so its a little crunchier.
Edit: you could try w/ whole wheat flour I've never tried.
I love my pizza stone! We use it for pizza, biscuits, anything that you want a nice brown crunch on the bottom.
Usually I use the store-bought pizza dough mix or buy the already made dough in the freezer aisle. But, I found a recipe for pizza dough in my weight watchers cookbook... I haven't tried it yet, so I can't vouch for how good it is, but their recipes are usually pretty good! Here it is:
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tsp sugar
1 package active dry yeast
1 tbsp olive oil
4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
In a two cup measuring jug, combine water and sugar. Sprinkle in the yeast and let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes. Stir in the oil. In a food processor, combine the flower and salt. With the machine running, scrape the yeast mixture through the feed tube; pulse until the dough forms a ball, about 1 minute. If necessary, turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly until smooth and elastic. Spray a large bowl with nonstick spray; put the dough in the bowl. Cover the bowl lightly with plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm spot until it doubles in size, about 1 hour. Punch down the dough, then cut in half. Refrigerate or freeze in floured zip-close freezer based at the point or use as directed.
My friend swears that baker's yeast makes the best pizza, but I've never tried it :P
I get pre-made pizza dough from Trader Joe's - it's amazing and easy
