QOTD

I was lurking over on TK and thought since we all are married I would ask....

Does your H wear his wedding ring?

If no, does it bother you? Why doesn't he?

H wears his whenever he leaves the house, except when he's going for hockey.  But he always takes it off right when he gets home, which annoys me for some reason.  He says (1) he's not used to it (so duh, wear it more often!) and (2) everyone in the house knows he's married (hardy har) so it's not necessary to wear it.

  • No, he actually lost his in Nov. He didn't/wasn't plan on wearing it any ways.

We went to Tallahassee for a football game/party weekend. I wanted him to wear it and we were at the bar and he took his hand out of his pocket and it was gone. Of course the bar was out side with like a deck floor so if he lost it there it was lost of good.

Thanksfully when he went to Vegas a couple weeks after we were married and I made him wear it he didn't loss it there. I would have been pissed.

We bought him a not expensive ring because he doesn't wear jewerly and said he wouldn't really wear it anyway. This never bothered me my dad never wore a ring because he was in contruction. Also, he almost lost his on their HM.

We plan on getting Greg another on just haven't done it yet.

  • Toby is like me and we wear them everywhere unless we are playing a sport or out on one of our parents farms. We both have indoor jobs so it's not that big of a deal.
  • Not usually.

He "lost" in one day while FedEx-ing and freaked the F out.  He ended up finding it in his cupholder, but from then on, he never wears it unless we're going to a social event w/ friends.

I get kind of butt hurt, but I understand why he doesn't.  I flipped out when he went out boozing w/ his BM and forgot it though.  Not cool.

  • J wears his all the time.  Hardly ever takes it off.  He also does electrical work, so being in the trades i thought he'd take it off more during the day.

He forgot it one day about a month ago and he said he didn't like how it felt.  But that everyone could still tell he was married due to the nice tanline he was rockin.  Stick out tongue

  • Gerren wears his all the time EXCEPT to work, because of his field of work it is dangerous to wear rings (his friends have lost their fingers because machines get stuck on the rings).  He puts it on a carabener on his key chain and puts it in his locker every morning.

He decided completely on his own to get a tattoo of our wedding date in roman numerals on his finger so even if he doesn't have his ring on, he has something even more permanent!  He is so proud of it :)

Love this!  H had one by the time we got back from the honeymoon, too, and we took a picture for posterity.

Shauni, that's sweet!  My BIL is a hobby/weekend mechanic and welder, and used to wear his ring all the time, but put a stop to that when he had an accident/spark with an arc (sp?) welder.

  • H wears his all the time.  He only takes it off if he's doing the dishes or showering (maybe some fix-it stuff too).  He forgot it one day and said he felt off all day.  It amused me since he thought it was weird wearing it in the first place.  :-D

  • Rich doesn't wear his to work becuase he's actually scratched some of the robotic arms when he did wear it...oops.  We don't wear our rings at home, so he only wears his when we go out.

  • He only wears his when we go out.  He can't wear it at work and he's always tinkering at home.  He did remember it all on his own this weekend, though - usually I grab it when I get my own jewelry out.

  • Most of the time, except when he's at home or when he forgets. Same goes for me.

  • No - 1) I got too big of a ring and it can't be re-sized and 2) he services autos so doesn't want it to get caught on anything. His dad is a mechanic and doesn't wear his. At first I was butt hurt that H wouldn't wear it but it doesn't make him any less married to me.

  • H wears his all the time unless he's in the shower or doing heavy yard work.  He even wears it to sleep.  I love it =)

  • H wears his all the time!! Only time he takes it off is when he is in the shower because he's afraid it will slip off. He sleeps with it on also! I love how much he loves to wear it!

  • Chris NEVER wears his and it pisses me off to  no end.

He doesn't even have a good excuse either.  We works in front of a computer all day.  He wore it around his neck on a chain for a while, but since it was a cheap chain and started staining - he literally used one of those key ring chains around his neck, he stopped doing that too.

ugh...I'm done fighting with him about it.  It just takes too much energy.  I took mine off in rebellion and he almost had a melt down.   I just ended up wearing mine again.

So irritating.   I know it's not about appearing single to him.   He talks about me all the time and doesn't hang out in bars or anything.  He just couldn't be bothered

  • Jim never wears his. He actually doesn't wear any jewelry. I knew this going into it. That's why his ring was like $200. He did tell me he'd wear it if he went out without me... but um.. that still doesn't happen. I'm actually surprised he hasn't lost it. I told him he better be wearing it to the hospital when the baby is born so they don't think I'm having a b@stard child! HaHa
