I got a new job!
In case you don't remember, I was laid off last year after my first year of teaching, but I was able to land another teaching job in a different town.
For the past year, I've been back and forth between my feelings on if I would go back or not if there was a position opening again.
The way it works is that If there is a position that opens up in the 12 months after your're laid off, you are recalled.
About a month ago, my old district called me and offered me two jobs...a full time math teaching job at the other high school (I went here, and long term subbed here), or a brand new position called "math interventionist"
I took the math interventionist position!! I will be working in both high schools, with small groups of students who need extra specialized instruction. Ideally, this is what I wanted to be doing for my career, but there was never really a position like it!
They actually moved a lot of things around in the budget so this position could exhist...It was meant to be!

I'll probably try to get preapproved in the next month (b/c it will only be me on the mortgage), and then we'll start looking. Although I found a really cute house online thatis right in between the high schools, and has great highway access for DH. and there's a fence for pepper already. sigh.
