Only Tuesday:(

So I went home last night with a HUGE headache last nightSad So I think I was in bed by 8pm. I am super excited that the Bruins won last night expect when Greg would scream for each goal. Not good for the head. Thankfully they scored their goals early in the game (I think) so then he was somewhat quiet. Of course last night was Greg one night off and I stayed in the bedroom.

I made baked ziti last night something I have been wanting for a while and of course I it made me sick. Grrrr..

I hope everyone else had a better night than me.

Re: Only Tuesday:(

  • sorry your not feeling so hot, xtine! i had baked ziti last night too!

so busy 'round these here parts!  i hardly have time to check my email or go to the bathroom let alone nest!

i feel like i am living in the twilight movies--it is always gray and rainy here!  not acceptable.

exhausted this morning.  and i just want it to be 4 so i can get my long run done with (here is hoping for 5.5-6 miles today!) and go home, make fish tacos, and hit the hay.

  • hey all!

I'm crossing my fingers that today doesn't drag on.  I'm sleeping like crap lately and it's making for really really long days.

yesterday after work I stopped and got some laffy taffy.  It got me through my drive home through the construction zones.  Then when i got to town, I realized we didn't have anymore ice cream.  So i had to stop and get some of that too.  :-)  So the majority of my dinner was laffy taffy and ice cream.  I was happy.

Its supposed to starting raining here again and last for 3 days.  Ugh!!!  I don't like it one bit!

  • I love the baked ziti. I altered my recipe big time two years ago and it's a winner winner chicken dinner. I should make that soon. Maybe this weekend for next week!

No sleep till Brooklyn. I heard that this morning. And didn't get enough sleep last night. I would've paid thousands to sleep in this morning.

Last night I came home, reorganized MFD's closet, packed lunch and gym bag, then we went on a major shopping spree for MFD.

He got a three piece suit, three shorts, three polos, many button downs, ties, two blazers, suit pants, two pairs of jeans, khakis, tee-shirts, sweaters, loafers. His stuff was shabby and it was time. He is a brand ho. The majority of the stuff was Ralph Lauren Polo.

We got home at 9:45 and purged his t-shirts. We didn't get rid of as many as I wanted to, but we got rid of enough. He went to WaWa to get us food, and we watched Pawn Stars until 11. I fell out around 11:45.

    I am starving this morning!

This week I need to do some cleaning, yard work, library and Sam's and that's close to it. Drinks with coworkers Thursday.

    Treadmill today at the gym.

  • What I wouldn't give to still be in bed....

I am skating this week and next in a town that is a 1.5 hour away. So my days will be get up early, drive, skate for 2 or 3 hours, drive home, and then put in a 6 hour work shift. One day in and I am already exhausted. :(

I am trying not to worry about house work this week, but there is a lot that needs to get done to make up for the busy weeks we have had.

  • Morning all, sorry I've been MIA lately too.  My work bestie and I both got a promotion and it's crazy busy w/ meetings and long term agendas/goals blah blah blah.  I have a small staff now and it turns out I might have to terminate one by the end of the week.  Oh joy.  <--sarcasm  But oh joy (<--for real) for bonuses and more responsibility!

Been trying to keep up w/ yard work at the new house.  We have a dead patch of grass, prolly 10' x 5'.  Been raking my arse off and still have no idea what I'm doing.  Trying to get it seeded by the weekend.

Pandora is my new BFF as I created an Old School Jams station.  Hello Michael and Janet Jackson, Kool & the Gang and Rick James.  I've missed you all so.

DH has a pinched nerve and muscle spasms in his back.  He's a hot mess.  The nasty has been put on hold and is making mama unhappy.  Especially since he can't help w/ yardwork.

Vegas in a week from today.  Hells to the yeah!  Going to the Rockies game tonight with the pimp work seats.  Row 9 behind home plate.  Wahoo!  Is it 3 yet?

Steph-can I get your ziti recipe?  Did you know you're my recipe whoore?  Anytime I use one, I get lots 'o compliments :)  (the corn dip was a HUGE success at the BBQ last month)

  • Hey Girlies,  I'm just checking in.  Nice to see you are all still posting regularly.  I think about you guys a lot even if i don't post as often.

Shauni, we just spent a weekend up in New England.  It was glorious the first two days, and you're right,  cause then it turned afwully cold and gloomy for the rest of the time.  What gives?   Our friend offered us a fabulous place on the beach for a couple months if we want it, but I kinda don't see the point if it's going to be cold and miserable most of the time.

Brew, I saw your house photos on fb.  It's gorgeous :)

  • EB - same here on housework. It's piled up in the weeks before Relay. Yardwork too. Misty, I feel you there. I hope you get the grass seeded.

    My ziti:

    Baked Ziti

    1 lb rigatoni

    1 onion, chopped

    1 pound ground turkey

Herbs ? basil and parsley (optional)

    Italian seasoning and oregano

2 (26 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce (I make my own sauce but it?s good with jarred as well)

1 lb deli provolone cheese, sliced

    1.5 cups sour cream

    4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

    Grated Parmesan cheese

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta, and cook until al dente; drain.

In a large skillet, brown onion and ground turkey over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Add spaghetti sauce, and simmer 15 minutes.

Mix the sour cream with Italian seasoning, oregano, and herbs.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Layer as follows: 1/2 of the pasta, ? of the sauce mixture, Provolone cheese (use as much or as little as you want, but make sure there?s a good solid layer), sour cream, remaining ziti, half of the mozzarella cheese, remaining sauce mixture, and remaining mozzarella cheese. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.

Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheeses are melted. (I cover for the first 15-20 minutes). When it comes out, sprinkle with chopped fresh basil.

If you make it the day before and refrigerate, let it come to room temp for an hour or more before baking it, or plan on a much longer baking time.

  • Good morning.  I am so looking forward for this weekend to be over.  Yesterday I took the car in to the shopSad and picked up a rental (Nissan Versa).  I was driving home and the car was swerving.  I'm not sure if it's because it was so windy or if the car just sucks.  We went out for a drink, which is so bad since I wanted to go the gym.  Richard had really bad gas last night.  He smelled like he was boiling eggs, so gross Ick!.

  • Steph, I'll have to try your ziti recipe.  Mine is similar minus the sour cream and provolone.

    Fourth Anniversary

Brew, we brought our whole lawn back from the dead, so I've got some tips.  (It was a foreclosure, and the bank's realtor turned off the sprinklers (in summer!) in between when we started and closed escrow.)

Get an aerator.  We bought a cheap one at Home Depot that you step on.  Otherwise the seed has a hard time permeating the ground.  We watered, then went crazy with seed.  The stuff that worked the best for us was the Scott's Contractor's Blend from Home Depot.  We also then covered lightly (just threw it over) with some dirt, so the seed didn't blow away.  Water like crazy, and hope it grows.

Anyway, we are repeating the process now on the little patches the puppy dug up (ugh, good thing she's cute!) and it works pretty well.

Moleson, I love Tuesdays because it's when my fruit changes, but the onion is icky to look at.  I'm not a fan of onions, unless we're talking Red Robin onion rings.  Stick out tongue

  • Hi - been MIA for a few days. H and I got home yesterday from visiting my mom in WI. She had a nice wedding and even though she went bridezilla on my sister and I, it was great to see her finally get married to her boyfriend of 7 years.  I'm home today because I wanted and extra day off and had an interview scheduled. We were supposed to have a new washer delivered but the lazy driver decided he wanted to make this his last stop in this area and tried to bump up my delivery time for when nobody was going to be home. great. So looks like I'll be home tomorrow (at least I'll be working, blah) again for that and dropping/picking up H from work.
