or more than one! I have several.
Songs that just take you back to a point in your life that were so long ago, but it makes you feel like you're right back there again.
A big one for me is "The night before life goes on" by Carrie Underwood. It reminds me of the summer after I graduated highschool and my first "love", was going off to college 10 hours away on a football scholarship while I stayed here to attend UNT. We spent every day together that summer and dreaded the day he had to leave. I still remember the night before he left, I cried so much!
That song brings it all back every time I hear it! It's like I'm 18 all over again!
What's one of yours?
Re: Everyone has one
I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?
I was in 5th grade when that song came out. I feel like a baby.
And now I feel old.
Well I'm not that much of a baby. Haha. I'll be 27 in a few months.
Yes! The guy from that band died a few years back
Oh and Cake's "Short Skirt Long Jacket" reminds me of roadtrips down to Dallas when I was 17.

I didn't know he died.
Roadtrips to Dallas? Where are you from Wendi?
OKC. Dallas was a big deal back in the day LOL
Yeah, he had leukemia I think, so no overdose or anything crazy.

Hahaha, gotcha.
Mine are Linkin Park - one step closer, it takes me back to a really bad time that I went through with Matt when I thought he thought he was too good for me.
50 Cent - In da club, it takes me back to being 16 and partying it up non-stop.
Rascall Flats-I Miss Mayberry- This song came on as I was sitting in the car being driven from the funeral home to the burial site of my grandfather. I CANNOT handle this song, I will burst into tears if I listen to it. It has such a strong hold on the horrible memory.
I have a lot.
Summertime by Kenny Chesney is a big one.
I also love old Kenny Chesney, and Reba (she played a concert in my teeny tiny hometown every year that we went to), and old, old, old Pat Green...and Jack Ingram.
Now I'm wishing I hadn't left my IPod at home.
Most 50 Cent and Nelly songs remind me of high school. As does Ludacris.
Old Pat Green for me too!
I do this for TONS of music. I guess the ones that bring the strongest reaction:
I can't listen to Maroon 5 anymore
I listened to their new(er) CD all the time when I dated the guy before DH, and although I have no feelings about the guy in question anymore, hearing the songs brings me back to the weird, mixed-up feelings I had while dating him. It just makes me feel icky. I can't describe how.
"I Walk Alone" by Green Day reminds me of college and "Had a Bad Day" reminds me of the job I had a few years ago. I know they're bleak songs to begin with, but I can't listen to them without feeling as awful as I did in some of those situations. So I usually change the station now.
hmm...there's so many!
"The Boy is Mine" - Brandy and Monica. In junior high we would call girls and play this song when they would answer. We were real mature...HA!
"Sorry Miss Jackson" - OutKast. My BCIS teacher's name was Ms. Jackson when this song came out. The guys had a field day with her and this song!
"Hey Ya" - OutKast
"17" - Cross Canadian Ragweed. This was our class song my senior year. Yes, we are hicks!
We must have graduated HS the same year because I remember all those songs at about the same time!
LOL...I think you're only a year older than me. I just turned 26 in May.
I was always old in my class because my birthday is in October. I graduated in 2003.
Oh yeah I was always the younger one of my class. I graduated in 2003 too.
Gosh we're getting old. Haha. My DH's 10 year reunion is coming up this year, I can't believe mine is in 2 years. I just can't even fathom that it's been that long.
I know!! We have mine in 2 years and DH and my little sister's the next year. I'm more excited about their reunion because I don't like a lot of people in my class. I'll probably be pregnant or fat from just having a baby by then...bummer LOL!
I know! I've thought about that, too. If I go. I haven't decided yet.
But so many people in my graduating class already have multiple kids and some are done having kids and so they'll probably be all back in shape and I'll be just starting so I won't be looking my best! But, I definitely wouldn't do things any differently.
Summer and lacy- I graduated college in 2003! Thanks for making this old girl feel older!!!!
Seems like I'm good at that today.
Me too!
I was a lot younger than most of my friends...just like you said, being a May baby made you the youngest one in the class.
Back to the song thing..."Get Low" immediately transports me back to this terrible club in Lubbock called Graham's Central Station. Classy.
There are a lot of songs that bring up very vivid memories for me, but right now I'm blanking. Arg.
