I saw in your post below that you had a secret shopper gig over the weekend...how did it go?
I've always been so interested in those, but I never knew how to get into it. How did you get into it??
Re: *milliechel67*
It was actually a bit of a let down. It was a restaurant I've wanted to go to for a long time and they were SLAMMED with graduation get togethers so we didn't get seated for 30 minutes after our reservation so we had to rush dinner to get DH back for another commitment he had. But it was free and the food was great so I guess it was still worth it!
A mom of a former student in our youth group got a hold of me because her friend is in charge of the"shops" in our area with this organization. Her daughter had been trying to do a wedding planning shop in our town but couldn't and they needed to have it done that week so I was contacted to see if I knew of anyone who could do it. So I did it.
They're a bit time consuming and the food ones usually only pay what they determine to be a moderate bill but I'm going to stay on the list in case there's another place like the one we went to Saturday or in case it opens doors for hotel shops -- I would love to do hotel shops. I haven't had enough time to really go through their site and figure out how others would get involved, if they're connected to other shopping groups, etc...
MY BLOG!
Sorry to hijack your post, but I actually did one just today! I've only done it a few times before, and for the same restaurant each time for some reason. I do mine through Mystery Guest Inc. (or something like that). The home page is http://www.grassrootsmeasures.com/GRPM/. I'm not sure if it's in every region or not. I don't get "invitations" very often though.
The ones I've done reimburse (with a gift card) an average meal amount regardless of what you actually pay. For example, I did a lunch today and I'll get a $30 gift card (in a few weeks, sent through the mail) for doing it. Dinners are usually $40. Let me know if you want more specifics if you're interested in signing up.
