How often do you have your vacuum "repaired"

We had 2 Roombas that died. (Possibly because DD crawled on them/jumped on them when she was little.) So then my mother got rid of our old hand me down vacuums and got me a new hoover when DS was born. Now DS is 2 and the vacuum is now suddenly noisier and doesn't work as well. I know I should take it somewhere to be fixed up. Where?

  • You might be able to contact the manufacturer and see about sending it in or ask them to recommend someone local. The guy who fixes my mom's vacuum cleaner works at a furniture store, though I think he just happens to do both.

  • I just take mine to a Sew n Vac type place every few years and ask for a tuneup. They replace the belts, filters, de-gunk it and let me know if anything else is wrong. I have a 10 y/o Hoover Wind Tunnel that is still going strong!
