Garage Sale Pricing

I need some opinions! My older sister and I are having a garage sale together to get rid of some stuff. I'm a teacher, so I'm free in the summer, and I figured why not?! Whatever I don't sell, I will just give to Goodwill.

Anyway, I'm selling a ton of used books and DVDs. What would you price these items at? It's been forever since I've had a sale, so I'm completely lost. Right now I'm planning on $1 for paperbacks, $2 for hardbacks, and $1 for DVDs. Thoughts?? Too expensive? Too cheap?

Thanks, ladies!

  • That sounds good to me!! If it seems like the books aren't selling, you could always cut the prices back later in the sale, to like.50 for a paper back and a $1 for hardbacks. I think the DVDs will go quick at 1.

If you make a sign for the table/container they are in, it'll make it easy to mark the reduced price (if you need to) than putting a sticker on each book.
