If anybody gets migraines, what med do you take?
Ive taken Midrin for the past 10 years but its off of the market now. I was given Imitrex and it makes me sick. Anything else work for your migraines?
Re: Migraine meds
Imitrex also makes me sick and Excedrin is a joke (for me anyway). I tried Zomig in the past and I did okay. Imitrex makes be feel like crap and bogged down.
What I mainly do for migraines is ginger root, pepermint (oils and tea) and tylenal.
As long as you know your triggers, you can prevent them easily. I have been keeping a journal for years and it helps.

I typically take the Maxalt meltaways and they work 99% of the time but there is no generic so it's $$$ for me. There was only one month in the past couple years that Maxalt didn't work and the doctor prescribed me Relpax.
Relpax worked but I needed to sleep after taking it because it gave me a burning sensation on the scalp and eventually my whole body felt like I had been severely sunburned. It was was fine if I slept through the side effects.
I use Relpax too. I get the same side effect but not so severe. I can usually stay awake during it.
Fire it up, Let's go get this thing stuck
I used to take Imitrex and Relpax....Now I take tylenol or sometimes if it's really excruciating ...Vicodin .... also massage helps a lot too along with pressure points. My neurologist also mentioned they can do some kind of injections that take them away immediately.....I never got those ....but I know people who speak highly of them.
Good Luck!
Was it amitriptyline?
I tried that stuff to and could not stop yawning. It was awful I would yawn all day long. It was disruptive.
