fathers day question

I called my dad a couple of days ago and asked if I could take him out to dinner one night this week for fathers day since DH and I will be OOT for the weekend. We made plans for tonight and he asked if his GF could come too. I don't like her, none of us do, but I am not going to tell him no. That is rude and I would be pissed if he did the same to me... Thats being said, his gf is a bit of a lush and while she probably won't eat much she usually has several beers @ dinner. Because it is for fathers day I am buying my dads dinner and I think I will ennd up buying hers as well... Would it be weird/rude to have them put his and mine on 1 check and hers seperate? We are going to Jeds so I guess it shouldnt be TOO expensive. I would only consider doing this if she has more than a couple. (which she might since today is her last day of work for the summer, she is bus driver)

Re: fathers day question

  • Maybe just tell the waitress at the beginning you'll be paying for her meal but to put her drinks on her own check, so that way everyone knows right off?
  • I would probably just pay for the whole bill and not make an issue out of it. But if you think she is going to continue to drink past the meal, ask for the bill as soon as the waiter starts to clear the plates, then if she wants to continue to drink she will either be given a new bill or she can walk up to the bar and order and pay for them herself.
  • Just talked to my dad and it turns out she wont be joining us. She drove for a field trip to CP...
