What to do with wine corks

We seem to have some crafty ladies and decorating gurus on here, so maybe somebody has some ideas.  For some reason, we have always saved the corks from the wine we drink, and now we have three large bowls/vases overflowing with corks.  We don't want to throw them out, but there has to be something better than them just piling up.  Any thoughts?

Didn't someone (and I can't remember who for the life of me, I'm bad with that sort of thing) make a message board with them?  (Ha, not like TK/TN silly) Like a pin board?  We've been saving ours too.  (though most are probably lost in the abyss behind the fridge)  We're thinking about using some to make something to put on our collage/frame wall (that we've yet to hang).

I remember that. There was someone who was on this board that was pretty crafty and did that.  I wish I could remember as well.

  • I also seemed to recall something about a message board thing.  I really wish I was more crafty and creative.

  • We use ours where we have fake flowers in our house, like the bathroom :)

  • Here is a tutorial for making a tray out of them.

  • Thanks for the links!  Great ideas ... I love the bath mat, but doesn't really work in our bathrooms.  The serving tray is probably more practical. Looks like I'm going to have to get crafty this summer.

  • You mail them to me! Wink

I make cork boards. My dad custom made the board size for me, but you could easily use any frame and a backing. It takes a TON of corks. The board below has almost 200 corks and it's definitely a challenge arranging them since corks aren't always the same size.
