I can't post from work

We have a new "General Manager" who was our IT company that we used.  He had us sign a computer usage agreement so that means I won't be able to spend time on TN while at work.  Boo!  That was really the only time I was able to post.  I'll try to post from home when I can.  I'll miss our daytime posts.

Re: I can't post from work

  • Boo! I hear ya though! I could never post from work because I didn't really have a job at a desk! Now that I'm home.. I'm more posty! The board is definitely slow at night!

  • Sad!!! We will miss you!
  • Booooo!! I'm around sometimes at night when K falls asleep and I get bored.  I'll keep ya company. :-)

Our company issued a new internet usage policy a couple of months ago and actually started blocking websites.  I was holding my breath that next morning when I logged into TN.  Thank God they didn't block me.  Instead they probably just monitor everything I say here and wait to hold it against me...

I'm in the same boat as Sunshine - not blocked, but maybe monitored.  I try to pop on only for breaks.  I'm salaried, and don't take lunch or regular breaks for the most part, so internet trolling comprises my 'break' in working.

Also, I usually pop by in the evenings to see if anyone's around, and I'm also on Pacific time.  Maybe we could do an evening QOTD to keep things going.

  • That's fricking lame!

You need to dig up all those articles that show studies saying that employees are far more productive when then are allowed the browse the internet at work.

  • Don't know if anybody would want to but how about a proboard page? I don't know if any of you have those monitored or not. I know fb is blocked here.
  • Lamesauce! My internet postings, emails, chats, whatever are supposedly monitored as my company has no site that is blocked but I feel your pain. If I'm super busy I won't post here because I notice I'm less distracted when I don't have an external site in my face.

Jessie - for me at least, we assume that everything is monitored, although they're more likely to have a problem if you access sites like FB.   So an offboard wouldn't really help, unless they started blocking TN.
