Larissa - another lawyer question

If you have a trial where the jury is in deliberation for a long time, can you start another trial while the jury is still out on the first trial?

(I watch a lot of Law and Order)

Re: Larissa - another lawyer question

  • LOL! I don't think it's a great idea. I'd bring work to the courthouse so I wasn't just sitting around stressing and wasting time, but if the jury has a question for the court or wants testimony read back, the attorneys have to be there for that. I wouldn't want to be the one delaying them while they're deliberating things that'll affect my client. Even when they're coming back with an actual verdict, the judge'll be pretty miffed if you delay.
