What's in your netflix queue?

Just took a look at our queue and it's pretty sad so looking for some good movie recs.

They don't have to be new releases-classics, foreign films...anything but scary horror films (which is what hubby has in there now!)

 Thanks!

Re: What's in your netflix queue?

  • I keep trying to get DH to add movies that are well-known and well-referenced but we've never seen--Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Citizen Kane, Sunset Boulevard, etc but he keeps bumping up the more recent stuff.  I think we just got Inception.
  • All the Harry Potters are at the top (rewatching them before the last one comes out.)

    After that....um.....

I know for sure Gonzo is there.  thats all I can remember!

  • Oh and to recommend a few that stood out to me in the past year or so: I liked Gran Torino, Seven Pounds, Hereafter, and The Kids are All Right was pretty entertaining too.

This totally happens at my house too but we've been able to go through  a few classics/well-known ones. We both liked Breakfast at Tiffany's and Casablanca but we both fell asleep during Citizen Kane and just sent it back.

Recent ones I've watched that I would recommend are The Tourist, City Island, and anything Meryl Streep!

We just finished Biutiful with Javier Bardem but didn't really dig it.

  • These are the 3 we have at home:  Jackass 3.5, The Company Men, and The Green Hornet.  We just saw Scott Pilgram vs the World. It was okay, not what I was expecting.  We saw True Grit and is probably my least favorite Cohen Bros movie.

It's funny because a lot of the Oscar nominated movies I've been really disappointed with this year.

  • Most recently we just watched The Dilemma (hated it) and Megamind (good). We have Last House on the Left and No Strings Attached still to watch.

  • Sorry, but nothing,  We don't have Netflix.

  • I don't have anything super exciting in my queue right now- DH really wants to see "Cowboys," an old John Wayne film.  I have "Citizen Kane" and "Shakespeare in Love" high in my queue.

I just sent back- "The Dilemma," which we didn't like and 'I Love You Phillip Morris," which was OK.

    Some Recommendations:

Foreign- anything with Audrey Tautou, The Three Colors Trilogy (Blue, White, Red)

TV shows- Arrested Development and Veronica Mars (I now have a huge crush on Kristen Bell)

Comedies- "Date Night" and "Easy A"
