Someone in our neighborhood set up a Facebook page and it's been awesome. So far, there are 4 other families with 7-month-olds and I went for a walk with one of them last week and we really hit it off. They're all boys but that's okay as Lucie has lots of girlfriends around her age! She'll be going to school with these babies so I figure she can make friends with them young! Also, it's nice for me to meet people nearby! I suggested that we set up a babysitting roster where we do a sort of date night swap. If one couple wants to go out, they can drop their kids at another neighbors house and then return the favor at a later date.
Re: Meeting new neighbors
that is good.
I guess this is the difference in living in a big town compared to a small town. I know all my neighbors and we get together and have a block type party at the lake down the road from our house every Labor day. Actually that is one of the main reasons I love where I live everyone knows everyone and we all watch out for the kids that are playing.
