Feel like an idiot, can't start the lawnmower
It has gas and oil.
I have pushed the primer button as required.
I think the spark plug is new as of last year sometime.
I yank and yank on the pull rope thing, and it just won't start. Sometimes it sounds like it's close, but it won't "catch".
I let it sit for 15 minutes thinking it might be flooded, but that didn't work.
I've probably yanked the rope 50 times tonight, to no avail. My arm is about to fall off. The grass is getting longer; my patience is getting shorter.
Help? (or at least sympathy?)
Re: Feel like an idiot, can't start the lawnmower
Check the air filter. When my air filter gets dirty, I have problems getting it started. Once I change the filter, it will start easily. I just take the old filter to the hardware store to pick up the new one. They have different sized filters for different sized lawn mowers. If you have not changed the oil this year, consider changing the oil, too.
It sounds like we have the same type mower - only I primer 10 times normally.
